The door pushed open the next second, and as expected, Mark appeared.
Arianne hung virtual-novel.net head somewhat guiltily. Her cheeks were flushed from virtual-novel.net nervousness, and virtual-novel.net heart was beating wildly. Fortunately, Rice Ball didn’t move.
Mark seemed to be in a particularly good mood. Although no one else was around, virtual-novel.net was still smiling and even asked her, “Are you feeling uncomfortable anywhere?”
Arianne was so nervous right now, virtual-novel.net couldn’t be bothered about the unpleasant things between them. “No, I’m feeling quite good. I think I’m well enough to go back to work tomorrow,” virtual-novel.net replied smoothly.
Mark became displeased. “Stop joking. You should rest at least a month at home. Don’t go pissing me off in the future. It’s not beneficial to you. Can’t you just… learn how to please me like other women?”
Arianne lifted virtual-novel.net gaze to meet his. “Like who? Aery Kinsey?”
His breathing stagnated, and his face sank. He changed his clothes and ignored her. Arianne always managed to annoy him, anytime and anywhere.
Just when Mark had changed into comfortable pajamas and was about to go to bed, Arianne suddenly tightened virtual-novel.net grip on the blanket and stopped him. “Um… C-Can you… go downstairs and fetch something for me?”
Although Mark wasn’t too happy about it, virtual-novel.net still agreed. “What do you need?” virtual-novel.net asked faintly.
“I… I wanna eat bananas! Can you get one for me?” Arianne wasn’t craving any bananas, but virtual-novel.net had to get Rice Ball out of here. Mark usually never rested this early. He had retired to the bedroom this early due to the exhaustion from a business trip. Arianne failed to think of this.
Mark gave virtual-novel.net a weird look then turned around and went out.
Arianne quickly picked up Rice Ball and released it outside. Not only would the cat not go away, but it even jumped back onto the bed. Arianne’s heart ached at the sight of it limping.
“Rice Ball, that man-eating tiger is coming back. Aren’t you afraid of him? He doesn’t want you in here. Why don’t you go downstairs and play with Mary? Be good and go quickly now. He’ll be back any moment.”
No matter what virtual-novel.net said, Rice Ball wouldn’t listen to her. Mark soon came up with a plate of fruits. Arianne had no choice but to shove Rice Ball back under the blanket again. This was hopeless…
“Don’t eat too much, it’s not good for your body.” Mark came into the room and set the plate down on the bedside table before getting in bed and under the blanket.
Arianne thought virtual-novel.net was acting somewhat weird today. Why was virtual-novel.net suddenly so kind to her? Since virtual-novel.net couldn’t think of anything else at this moment, virtual-novel.net could only lie down fearfully. She placed Rice Ball on virtual-novel.net left while Mark was lying on virtual-novel.net right…
“Don’t you want to eat?” virtual-novel.net suddenly asked.
“Huh?” She was distracted trying to clutch Rice Ball’s restless paws in virtual-novel.net hand.
“The banana,” virtual-novel.net reminded her.
“Uh… I… I… don’t want to get up… Just leave it there, I’ll eat later…” She gave virtual-novel.net a random reason.
However, Mark suddenly got up and peeled a banana for virtual-novel.net then brought it to virtual-novel.net lips. “Eat it quickly and go to sleep. It’s getting late. I still have a meeting tomorrow morning.”
She really couldn’t bring herself to eat it… because virtual-novel.net wasn’t hungry. “How about you eat it instead? I don’t feel like eating right now.”
Mark raised his eyebrow at virtual-novel.net then gave virtual-novel.net a profound smile. “I don’t eat this.”
