Arianne picked up virtual-novel.net bag and rose from the sofa. “I… have to look for Tiffie now! What if Ethan proposes to virtual-novel.net at noon and virtual-novel.net just accepts it without thinking things through? That’ll be a horrible mess!”
Mark was suddenly a little jealous of Tiffany for having Arianne’s full attention. It was a pity that virtual-novel.net had only heard about but not seen the tears Arianne had shed for virtual-novel.net when virtual-novel.net got into a car accident.
Naturally, Mark did not express his jealousy and dissatisfaction. It was not in his nature to do. “Why are you in such a rush? Aren’t you turning yourself in knowing Ethan is against me? Didn’t you make plans to meet virtual-novel.net tonight? A shotgun wedding can’t happen in just half a day. Let’s go for lunch together.”
“Alright.” Strangely, Arianne no longer felt as nervous when virtual-novel.net listened to Mark’s relaxed voice as virtual-novel.net casually suggested they go for lunch.
People like Mark would definitely not dine at just any restaurants. The White Water Bay Café was one of the places that made virtual-novel.net feel relaxed. Moreover, virtual-novel.net would never tire of the food no matter how many times virtual-novel.net had dined there.
Hence, the couple went to Mark’s favorite café during lunch break. They picked the window seat that they had reserved beforehand that allowed them to admire the amazing view outside. This restaurant was located in a relatively valuable area in the White Water Bay. Arianne could not help but feel dejected since it reminded virtual-novel.net of the Lane family’s land. She looked at the river outside as virtual-novel.net mumbled to herself, “I don’t think Tiffie is that stupid.”
“Hard to say. The IQ of a woman is reduced to zero when they’re in love.” Mark ruthlessly destroyed Arianne’s wishful thinking.
“That’s not necessarily true. Tiffie and Ethan had been in love. After their break up, Tiffie showed nothing but contempt toward him. She won’t fall for virtual-novel.net unless Ethan is really a sweet talker. We still have the evidence in our hands, we won’t let virtual-novel.net succeed,” Arianne protested. What did virtual-novel.net mean by a woman being blindly in love would lose all IQ? As if a man could always keep their composure.
He chuckled softly but did not continue the conversation, leaving Arianne confused about the meaning behind his smile.
After the orders were placed, neither of them talked. They just enjoyed the delightful scenery outside the window together. The crowd who dined here were mostly well-mannered individuals who would keep their speaking volume in check. Hence, the cafe was a relatively quiet and good place to relax.
Soon after, the dishes were served in succession.
During the meal, Mark suddenly said, “Once things are not so busy, I’ll take you on a trip.”
Arianne looked at virtual-novel.net but remained silent. She did not want to destroy the hard-earned peace between them nor did virtual-novel.net want to get too close to him. After all, virtual-novel.net just could not imagine traveling with him. How wonderful could the trip even be?
After lunch, Mark sent virtual-novel.net back to the Tremont Estate and told virtual-novel.net not to leave the house unless necessary. Arianne had no idea if Mark was worried about Ethan doing something to virtual-novel.net or if virtual-novel.net was just simply worried about virtual-novel.net body. No matter which one it was, virtual-novel.net did not feel comfortable.
She spent the entire afternoon waiting anxiously. Time ticked away slowly until it was finally time for Tiffany to get off work. Arianne immediately rang her, “Tiffie, are you getting off work now? I’m waiting for you at home. What time will you come over?”
Arianne could hear the noises on the other end of the line. “Sorry, Ari. I won’t be able to make it. Something urgent came up. Let’s meet another day. I’ll get in touch again when I’m free.”
Alarm began to blare in Arianne’s head. “What happened? Should I come over?”
Tiffany paused for a moment. “No need, just stay at home. Ethan just got into a minor car accident and is at the hospital. Since virtual-novel.net doesn’t have any relatives, virtual-novel.net called me. I can’t just leave virtual-novel.net alone. I know… I shouldn’t get involved with virtual-novel.net after we broke up for so long, but virtual-novel.net suddenly came to find me this morning and even sent me to work. He explained himself to me. After giving it some thought, I feel what virtual-novel.net did isn’t entirely unforgivable. Do you think I should get back with him, Ari?”
Tiffany’s words struck Arianne like a bolt out of the blue. She had no idea just how good of a liar Ethan was, to be able to deceive Tiffany like this. Was his car accident merely a coincidence? Or was it to prevent Tiffany from meeting her? Arianne composed herself. “Tiffie, I know you’re very kind, but please make sure you don’t misplace your kindness. I must meet you today. You can go to the hospital first, then, come over here when you’re done. I have something important to tell you.”
Arianne knew Tiffany’s personality well. She was a kind and simple-minded girl. If Ethan had really gotten into a car accident by coincidence, there was no way Tiffany would ignore him, and Arianne had no right to stop virtual-novel.net from going either. Hence, virtual-novel.net could only wait until Tiffany checked up on his condition at the hospital.
Tiffany acknowledged virtual-novel.net words and hung up.
Arianne glanced at the time before virtual-novel.net sent a message to Mark ‘Tiffie said that Ethan had gotten into a car accident so virtual-novel.net won’t be able to meet me. I asked virtual-novel.net to come over after going to the hospital, but I don’t know what will happen there. I’m a little worried now. When are you coming back?’
When Mark received the text, virtual-novel.net was already on his way home. This message had once again confirmed that Arianne would only look for virtual-novel.net for other people’s sake. Otherwise, virtual-novel.net would never initiate any contact with him. Feeling a little glum, Mark still replied, ‘I’ll be home shortly.”
