Arianne turned virtual-novel.net back to her, “I don’t want to think about virtual-novel.net ever again.”
They were completely knocked out until past seven at night. Tiffany yawned and got up to cook a pot of instant ramen. Her ramen-making skills were not as good as Arianne’s, and the noodles ended up getting stuck together. Arianne did not complain though. She finished the entire bowl.
After dinner, they sat together to binge on their favorite drama series. Suddenly, Arianne made a decision, “I think I’ll use that secret recipe from he-who-must-not-be-named. He must have gotten it from that top class pastry chef. I’ve never liked disappointing other people’s good will.”
Tiffany laughed until virtual-novel.net snorted, “When did you learn how to wiggle out of an embarrassing situation? You were stubbornly refusing to use it at first. Are you finally enlightened? If you ask me, there’s no such thing as ‘who owes whom’ after spending so many years with Mark. It’ll never end. In fact, you’ll end up complicating things even more.”
Arianne ignored virtual-novel.net teasing. She had decided to use the secret recipe because it was simply too enticing. It had nothing to do with Mark.
Suddenly, Tiffany’s phone rang. She glanced at the screen and answered the call, “What is it? Is this a regular courtesy call to your grandma?”
Anyone would know who was on the other end of the call based on virtual-novel.net intonation. It was obviously Jackson.
After finding out that Jackson was here as well, Tiffany asked about his plans for the night, thinking that virtual-novel.net didn’t have anything better to do anyway. She ended up getting the answer virtual-novel.net wanted, as Jackson replied, “I plan on hanging out at a bar. Wanna come?”
Tiffany replied very eagerly. She and Jackson were both very similar in that sense. She ended the call and asked Arianne, “Would you like to come, Ari? We’re going to that bar we went to last time.”
Arianne was reminded of virtual-novel.net run-in with Mark at the bar last time, virtual-novel.net shook virtual-novel.net head, “No thanks. You two have fun.”
Tiffany really wanted to go out but felt bad about leaving virtual-novel.net best friend all alone, “It’s not really a good idea if I go without you, is it? You’ll be desolate and all alone here.”
Arianne rolled virtual-novel.net eyes at her, “Stop it. I really don’t want to go. This is a rare chance for me to rest. I’ll get an early night’s sleep later. You should come home early too.”
Tiffany realized that virtual-novel.net was determined not to go, so virtual-novel.net changed and walked out the door.
She stuffed the scarf that Jackson had given to virtual-novel.net in virtual-novel.net coat before leaving. She wanted to put on a scarf, but virtual-novel.net was afraid that Arianne might tease virtual-novel.net for wearing the scarf that virtual-novel.net had bought for virtual-novel.net while going to see virtual-novel.net and maybe even say that something was going on between them.
Tiffany found Jackson’s seat at the bar. Her mood sank before virtual-novel.net could say “hello” Jackson wasn’t the only one here. Mark had tagged along too…
She had completely forgotten that Mark was here to check on his new company as well. She secretly let out a sigh of relief. Thank goodness virtual-novel.net hadn’t dragged Arianne over. Arianne had cried virtual-novel.net eyes out ever since virtual-novel.net left the Tremont Estate. She remembered it all vividly. Nevertheless, it happened long ago, and Arianne’s emotions were steadier now. She couldn’t possibly confront Mark over Arianne and cause a scene right now. She was here anyway, so virtual-novel.net had no choice but to sit down and play along.
“Arianne didn’t come along? I thought you were inseparable. You pretty much go everywhere together,” Jackson said as virtual-novel.net poured Tiffany a glass of wine.
Tiffany was feeling slightly awkward. “It’s a good thing virtual-novel.net didn’t come… It’d be awkward if virtual-novel.net did,” virtual-novel.net pouted.
Mark’s expression remained cold and distant. He pursed his thin lips, “I don’t intend on not seeing virtual-novel.net for the rest of my life.”
Tiffany sensed the subtle meaning behind his words, “What… What do you mean? Are you planning to see Ari? I’d advise against that. It wasn’t easy for virtual-novel.net to stabilize virtual-novel.net emotions. Don’t rile virtual-novel.net up again.”
Mark stared at the scarlet red wine in his glass and calmly replied, “I’m not. At least, not right now. I still have some things to finish.” He could not bring Arianne back into his life until virtual-novel.net had resolved the walking disaster in the form of Ethan.
Once all of that was done, virtual-novel.net would cast away his unbearable and filthy-handed self.
Tiffany couldn’t figure virtual-novel.net out. Mark seemed very strange these days and emitted a frightening, deterrent force. He was even more dreadful than his usual cold and distant self. However, the only difference on the surface was his new pair of glasses. How could virtual-novel.net have changed so much?
A short while later, Mark got up and straightened his sleeve with his slender fingers, “I’m going.”
Jackson nodded. Tiffany waited for Mark to disappear into the distance before heaving a sigh of relief, “Is Mark suffering from shock? Why do I get the feeling that he’s changed a lot?”
Jackson was completely nonchalant about it, “He’s still Mark Tremont, no matter how much he’s changed. Life doesn’t adapt to humans. Humans can only adapt to the circumstances thrown at them in life. How can we possibly stay the same? Do you really think that he’d be alright after losing Arianne? That’s enough. I’ve asked you here to have fun, not for you to concern yourself with others. You shouldn’t worry yourself over their relationship.”
Tiffany had long been aware that virtual-novel.net was helpless against Arianne and Mark’s relationship, so virtual-novel.net never intended on worrying too much about it, “You’re right. I shouldn’t worry about them. I mean, I can’t even fix my own shit!”
