Tiffany knew Arianne’s daily habits. She would never be able to go back to sleep after just waking up, “Sure. I’ll go upstairs and have a look.”
She knocked on the door and opened it. Arianne was surprised, “Tiffie? Aren’t you working today?”
Tiffany was reminded of the scene virtual-novel.net had encountered at home. She couldn’t contain herself, “Come downstairs, I have something to tell you. I’m not setting foot into your room ‘cause your man is a germaphobe. I don’t want virtual-novel.net to be annoyed with me.”
Arianne was helpless against Mark’s germaphobia too. She took Tiffany by the hand and went to the living room downstairs, “What’s up? You look rattled so early in the morning.”
“I hadn’t gone back to visit my mother at virtual-novel.net house in a while, so I thought of paying virtual-novel.net a visit this morning,” Tiffany said with a sour look on virtual-novel.net face. “I even brought virtual-novel.net breakfast and a present, afraid that virtual-novel.net would nag me for forgetting about virtual-novel.net after finding a man. Can you guess what happened? She has no need to nag me anymore; I don’t think she’ll ever have anything to say if I don’t come home. There was a man at virtual-novel.net home! I didn’t see him, just a pair of shoes at the door. I feel quite dejected.”
Arianne was taken aback as virtual-novel.net listened, “Are you saying… that your mother plans on remarrying? Actually… it’s best to play these things by ear. You can’t stop it anyway.”
Tiffany sighed, “I know. That’s why I don’t intend on stopping her, but I feel so upset. One, my dad’s death wasn’t too long ago. Two, virtual-novel.net brought a man into the house and let virtual-novel.net stay the night, before marriage. That’s my house too. It’s disgusting, okay? I’m just annoyed. In all honesty, I won’t mind as long as virtual-novel.net isn’t being conned or rushing to the altar. I was just shocked, since it’s early in the morning. It’s just too sudden, you know?”
Arianne wasn’t sure what to say. After all, this was Lillian’s business. She agreed with Tiffany’s view, “If you’re worried, take some time out and meet this guy. If you don’t feel like seeing him, use some other way to get to know him. That way, you’ll have greater peace of mind and you won’t have to feel awkward.”
After a bout of consideration, Tiffany decided to take Arianne’s suggestion, “Fine, I’ll contact that private eye. I’ve truly become one of his regulars. This is my third time hiring him. First it was for you, then to investigate Bernadette, and this time… it’s for my mom. This guy isn’t cheap. My nonsensical affairs alone are enough for his survival.”
This matter wasn’t as prickly. Tiffany received the private eye’s reply while hanging around the Tremont Estate until noon. It was only some information on the man. However, virtual-novel.net was shocked to discover that virtual-novel.net knew the man — virtual-novel.net was virtual-novel.net father’s old partner, Grant Jackson. She used to call virtual-novel.net Uncle Grant, but now virtual-novel.net was going to become virtual-novel.net stepfather?
Grant had visited virtual-novel.net at virtual-novel.net house many times, and virtual-novel.net had had many meals with her. She couldn’t exactly say how close they were. At least, virtual-novel.net knew virtual-novel.net when virtual-novel.net was a little girl. Of course, virtual-novel.net was married, if virtual-novel.net remembered correctly. He even had a son, and virtual-novel.net certainly wasn’t widowed.
The information from the private eye stated it very clearly — Grant was divorced and his son lived with him. He had always been in the jewelry supply business, and virtual-novel.net was still in the same industry.
Based on previous impressions, Grant was no better looking than virtual-novel.net father. In fact, virtual-novel.net was actually pretty ugly. He had the belly of a middle-aged man and very little hair, and virtual-novel.net was kind of greasy, but virtual-novel.net was very good with words. This was virtual-novel.net impression of Grant. Her mother had probably fallen for Grant’s words!
“I’m really giving up on my mother. Grant Jackson used to have a great relationship with my dad. I just think it’s weird for virtual-novel.net to date him… It would have been fine if virtual-novel.net were dating someone virtual-novel.net didn’t know. I wonder if my dad would crawl out of his grave in anger if virtual-novel.net found out?”
“Try to have a little perspective,” Arianne consoled, “Since you know each other, your mother probably understands Grant a little more. Chances of being deceived are lower when you’re with someone you know. Isn’t this good? What do you think of him?”
