“What are you doing here alone?” Tiffany asked, sobbing intermittently when they met. “Where’s Smore? Can you really leave virtual-novel.net at home?”
Although Arianne felt uncomfortable, virtual-novel.net did not show it. “Don’t worry, his daddy is with him. What’s there to worry about? I’ve decided to come here for a few days to have fun and keep you company. How are things between you and Jackson?”
“He thinks that Alejandro is the father of the baby.” Tiffany sobbed. “He wants me to abort it. I hung up on virtual-novel.net angrily, and virtual-novel.net hasn’t called me back since. He’s going to drive me crazy…”
Arianne wiped virtual-novel.net tears off. “Alright, don’t cry. Pregnant women shouldn’t cry. The baby can feel it whenever you’re sad. It’s not a myth, it’s true. Suspicion is one’s greatest enemy. It can destroy trust between two people. There are two ways to solve this now, either you and Jackson have a nice chat and convince virtual-novel.net that the baby is his, or you take a paternity test and show virtual-novel.net the proof. I don’t recommend you aborting the baby. There’s no need to involve an innocent life in your conflict. It’s your child after all.”
Tiffany finally managed to calm down. “Actually, I was considering abortion before you arrived. But you’re right, the baby is innocent. It shouldn’t have to lose its life just because I want to piss Jackson off. Talking is impossible. He’ll drive me nuts. Besides, there’s no cure for his suspicions. I’ll do a DNA test. But the baby isn’t born yet. How do I do that? I don’t think I can wait until its born to take the test. He’ll drive me up the wall.”
“You can do the test before the birth too,” Amy chimed in. “However, you have to wait until the fetus is at least three months old. 16 to 27 weeks would be the best and the safest.”
Only at this moment did Arianne notice Amy who had been sitting at a desk behind them. A computer was blocking Amy, which was why virtual-novel.net did not notice Amy immediately. “You’re Amy, right? Hi! Yes, I have considered the option that you’ve suggested. Prenatal paternity tests have improved in recent times. It’s not too risky so you can do that if you want.”
Amy nodded. “That’s right.”
Tiffany touched virtual-novel.net belly and heaved a heavy sigh. “Then, I’ll wait a little longer. I’ll do the test after a month or so. I’ll wait until the baby is four months old. It’s not time yet… But… It still hurts even if virtual-novel.net accepts the baby after seeing the proof. We’re estranged now. How can one mend a broken mirror? It feels kind of meaningless now…”
Arianne bit virtual-novel.net lip. “How about I go home and beat Jackson up? Don’t worry, virtual-novel.net wouldn’t dare retaliate with Mark around. I’ll avenge you.”
Tiffany’s lips trembled, virtual-novel.net was close to tears again. “That’s not a good idea, is it? Violence doesn’t solve anything. There’s no use in forcing virtual-novel.net to accept it. He’d still think that I cheated on virtual-novel.net and tried to play it off like he’s the father. Let me think about it. If push comes to shove, I’ll raise the baby on my own and be a single mother!”
Arianne smiled. “You just can’t bear having me beat virtual-novel.net up, isn’t that right? Alright, calm down, and take deep breaths. We can solve this, but it certainly won’t be possible to do it on the phone. If virtual-novel.net doesn’t come by to see you, we can go home together this weekend, and deal with it. For now, focus on staying calm and do whatever you want. We’ll go for dinner after work. Don’t starve your baby. Will you come too, Amy?”
Amy was still in a daze as virtual-novel.net was still processing the fact that Arianne was Mark Tremont’s wife. “Uh… S-sure.”
Discord wasn’t limited to Arianne and Tiffany. Things were not going too well for Mark either. He had refused Mary’s offer to tag along with virtual-novel.net to the office and help take care of Aristotle. Thus, virtual-novel.net single-handedly brought Aristotle to the office. He changed his diapers, fed him, and put virtual-novel.net to sleep, all on his own. Aristotle began to cry, probably because virtual-novel.net had not seen Arianne for a very long time. It took virtual-novel.net two hours to coax virtual-novel.net back to sleep. He was close to a breakdown at that point.
