Arianne felt a kind of emptiness deep down. Their relationship may look like it’s going strong on the surface, but in reality, it was still fragile. Based on everything that had happened today, it was clear.
She fell fast asleep before Mark emerged from the bathroom, probably because it was easier to fall asleep in the dark.
After an unknown amount of time, virtual-novel.net felt something move next to her. She opened virtual-novel.net eyes, just a little bit, and found Mark looking through virtual-novel.net phone. She pretended not to know, hoping that this would bring virtual-novel.net some form of assurance. He was probably trying to confirm if virtual-novel.net had saved Will’s contact details. Luckily, virtual-novel.net hadn’t…
Arianne woke up before sunrise the next day because virtual-novel.net had gone to bed early. Mark was still fast asleep. She silently got up and took a shower. She longed for Aristotle. This was virtual-novel.net first time spending the night away from home since Aristotle’s birth.
She stepped out of the bathroom, absent-mindedly after virtual-novel.net shower. She jumped with fright. Mark had woken up at some point and was leaning against the wall of the bathroom door!
She regained virtual-novel.net senses. “You’re awake? It’s still early. Why don’t… we go home for a while? We can change our clothes and see Smore too. I’m a little antsy, we haven’t been home for an entire night.”
Mark nodded, walked back to bed, took off his bathrobe, and changed. She lifted virtual-novel.net hand to tuck virtual-novel.net hair behind virtual-novel.net ear. She took virtual-novel.net clothes and changed in the bathroom. She really had a fright.
Mark did not check out of the room when they left. That meant that this hotel belonged to the Tremonts too.
They returned to the Tremont Estate and ran into Mary, who had woken up and was feeding Aristotle. Arianne’s spirits lifted when virtual-novel.net saw Aristotle. She took virtual-novel.net baby from Mary’s arms. “Let me.”
Mark went into the cloakroom without another word. “What’s going on?” Mary asked in a soft voice. “Mr. Tremont doesn’t look too happy. I thought you two went out to spend some time alone?”
Arianne felt slightly depressed. “Yes, there was a small bump along the way, and this happened… I don’t know what to say. It’s fine. Thank you for taking care of Smore for the night. It’s still early, get some rest.”
Mary didn’t ask too many questions. She got up and went back to virtual-novel.net room.
Mark emerged from the cloakroom and teased Aristotle while putting on his tie. “You’re up early, aren’t you going back to sleep?”
Aristotle stared at virtual-novel.net as virtual-novel.net suckled on his milk. He even reached out his tiny little arm. He strode forward. Aristotle grabbed his tie and pulled on it. His nearly tied tie was undone again. He didn’t get angry and pinched Aristotle’s chubby little cheek instead. Then, virtual-novel.net stepped aside.
Arianne couldn’t take it anymore. “Must you? It’s not even my fault. Why the heck are you so mad? You say it’s fine, but you’re actually disgusted, deep down. Hypocrite…”
“Am I?” Mark glanced at her.
“Can’t you tell if you are?” virtual-novel.net mumbled. “I thought that going out with you on a date was going to be so perfect and romantic. You’ve spoiled my fantasy.”
