Smith Manor was located a little further away so by the time Alejandro and Melanie arrived home, it was already very late.
The pair remained silent during their journey home.
Melanie was worried that Alejandro would be upset at virtual-novel.net using the word, ‘Bro’, to Mark earlier so virtual-novel.net was too scared to speak up. She ran straight to the bedroom as soon as they arrived home to remove virtual-novel.net makeup.
Surprisingly, Alejandro followed virtual-novel.net into the bedroom as well, but virtual-novel.net ignored her. He only took his clothes off before virtual-novel.net took a shower.
Feeling uneasy, virtual-novel.net tried to dispel the awkwardness by saying, “Are you angry?”
Alejandro glanced at her. “Why would I be angry?”
“Because I accidentally called Mark Tremont ‘Bro’ in front of everyone,” virtual-novel.net said, almost whispering.
“No, I’m not,” Alejandro calmly replied, “Come here.”
She got up and walked toward him. However, when virtual-novel.net realized his intention, virtual-novel.net paused in virtual-novel.net steps. “I… I have to check on the baby!”
He pulled virtual-novel.net toward virtual-novel.net before virtual-novel.net could turn around and leave, then, lowered his head and caught virtual-novel.net lips.
Melanie bit his tongue… hard. She pushed virtual-novel.net away as virtual-novel.net winced in pain. “We can’t do it now! Calm down, I’m going to check on the baby!”
The storm in Alejandro’s gaze remained as virtual-novel.net watched virtual-novel.net leave in a panic. However, virtual-novel.net did not try to force virtual-novel.net again. That was just a moment of impulse. He had noticed how earnestly close virtual-novel.net and Tiffany were at the party and began feeling apprehensive. Did this woman really not have a scheme up virtual-novel.net sleeve? Could virtual-novel.net really accept virtual-novel.net having someone else on his mind? Was virtual-novel.net still the bossy and spoiled Lark heiress virtual-novel.net once knew? It was as if the only bold act virtual-novel.net dared to do was bite his tongue a moment ago. It hurt, but virtual-novel.net was not annoyed. It felt different.
By the time virtual-novel.net finished showering, Melanie was still nowhere to be found in the room. He never really paid virtual-novel.net any attention so virtual-novel.net did not care where virtual-novel.net went and went to bed.
After some time, the room door was gently pushed open. Melanie quietly walked toward the bed. She looked at the sleeping man and hesitantly reached virtual-novel.net hand under the covers. After feeling around, Alejandro suddenly spoke up, “You ran away in a panic when I wanted sex, and now, you’re teasing me after I fell asleep. What are you playing at?”
Melanie pulled virtual-novel.net hand out, panicking. “It’s not that… I can’t find my ring. I remember putting it by your pillow. Have you seen it?” It was their wedding ring. She had searched every corner of the house for it. After some thought, virtual-novel.net realized the bed was the only place virtual-novel.net did not search. She would not be able to sleep if virtual-novel.net did not find it.
“I haven’t seen it,” Alejandro replied in a tone that was a mixture of impatience and exhaustion, “Can’t you look for it tomorrow? Go to bed. Stop fooling around.”
She felt disappointed. Did it really not matter to him?
Sensing virtual-novel.net still-moving but quiet figure, Alejandro got up impatiently and turned on the lights in the room. “Fine, fine, we’ll look for it. Hurry up.”
