When virtual-novel.net arrived at virtual-novel.net desk, Arianne sat down and took a deep breath to calm virtual-novel.net nerves. She still had quite a lot of outstanding tasks to be completed.
Sylvain had arrived earlier than virtual-novel.net and was already buried in his work. Arianne casually asked, “How have you been recently? Has your mom not made you break down yet?”
Sylvain gave a wry laugh and said, “I’m doing alright, but I can’t seem to understand why Robin’s mom dislikes me and my mom dislikes Robin like they’re born to be mortal enemies. I put in so much effort and finally began to make progress with getting Robin’s mom to like me, then my mom suddenly jumps out and makes my life even more difficult. Everytime I think of how Robin and I still aren’t living together despite being married for so long, I can’t even begin to imagine when we’re going to be able to begin making plans for having a baby. I’ve got a really bad headache at the moment because of this. You’re a woman, I’m sure you’re more experienced with dealing with mothers-in-law. I can understand if Robin’s mom despises me because of my past, but why would my mom despise Robin when she’s such a nice girl? Can you help explain that to me?”
Arianne laughed uncontrollably. “How should I know? I’m really no better than you in this. I’m quite stuck in a sticky situation myself at the moment. However, I think things are still quite optimistic for the both of you. Robin’s still working together with you in the office, so there’s no need for you to meet each other in secret. As for having a baby… I’m sure you’d be able to get it done in secret as well. Once Robin’s actually pregnant, a lot of problems will be flushed down naturally, cheer up. By the way, why haven’t you been wearing your earrings lately?”
Sylvain rubbed his earlobes. “About that… Robin’s mom didn’t like them. She said I looked like a ruffian. I can’t be bothered to explain and I don’t even know if I’d be able to make virtual-novel.net change virtual-novel.net opinion of it, so I decided not to wear them altogether. It’s no big deal for me to abandon one of my hobbies.”
Arianne couldn’t help but sigh. “Sometimes, we have no choice but to give up on our hobbies to accommodate others.”
In the afternoon, after Arianne was done with virtual-novel.net tasks, virtual-novel.net and Sylvain discussed some techniques to help improve their designing skills over a cup of tea. Whilst they were in the heat of the discussion, Robin hurriedly ran towards them. “Arianne, something bad has happened…!”
Seeing how Robin had almost banged the edge of the table while in a state of panic, Arianne laughed as virtual-novel.net said, “What’s the matter? You should be careful, the sky’s not falling down on us yet. Even if it is falling, we need to stay calm. Now, take a deep breath and tell me what has happened.”
Robin took a deep breath and revealed some shocking news. “Just now, at the hall where the runway was being designed, the chandelier on the ceiling fell! Mr. Tremont was right underneath the chandelier at that time and Shelly-Ann Leigh managed to push virtual-novel.net away, but virtual-novel.net was hit by the chandelier herself. There’s blood all over the floor. She’s currently in the hospital, and we don’t know how she’s doing yet!”
Aunt Shelly had been hit by the falling chandelier in order to save Mark?!
Since the lighting requirement for the fashion Show was much higher, the lights were bigger than usual. Whoever got hit by the lights would not be able to walk away unscathed; it’s even possible that the injury would be fatal.
Arianne immediately rushed to the hospital. Shelly was still in the emergency treatment room and Mark was guarding by the corridor. From a distance, his face was very dark and his thin lips were pursed. He exuded a very cold aura as if virtual-novel.net refused to let anyone approach him.
“Aunt Shelly will be fine…” Arianne walked towards virtual-novel.net but did not know how to console him. Just recently, virtual-novel.net had been in a heated argument with Shelly and had made it clear that the two of them were not compatible with each other. Therefore, no matter what virtual-novel.net said, it would only seem to be crocodile tears.
Mark was in a foul mood, virtual-novel.net looked at virtual-novel.net without any expression on his face. “It’s fine, you should go back to the office. It’ll be enough with just me here.”
Arianne bit virtual-novel.net lip. She paused for a moment, but then left. She did not want to leave, but only because it would make virtual-novel.net look like an outsider. Would it not be normal for virtual-novel.net to stay at the hospital at a time like this? Why did Mark ask virtual-novel.net to leave? Did virtual-novel.net not want virtual-novel.net to stay at the hospital just for Shelly? Or was there something else?
After a wasteful journey, Arianne returned to the office. Sylvain saw virtual-novel.net slumped shoulders and knew that things did not look good. He asked, “How’s Mrs. Leigh?”
