Since Gabriel Frost was so stubborn, Thomas Mayo shook his head, stood up, and said, “I have said what I wanted to. You take care, Gabriel Frost.”
Thomas left as soon as virtual-novel.net finished what virtual-novel.net came here for.
Gabriel watched Thomas as virtual-novel.net left. He was both anxious and angry.
“Bah, who does virtual-novel.net think virtual-novel.net is!”
Brad Dawson was a senior with a kind and caring soul in Gabriel’s heart. Moreover, virtual-novel.net was his mother’s one and only savior. How could virtual-novel.net allow Thomas to insult and slander virtual-novel.net as virtual-novel.net will?
Gabriel was no longer able to keep his calm and study. He sighed and left the library. He went back home right away.
“You’re back Gabriel?” The nanny helped Gabriel and placed his books aside.
Gabriel went straight into the house and sat beside the bed, watching his bedridden mother anxiously.
His father passed away when virtual-novel.net was very young. It was his mother who brought virtual-novel.net up by herself. His mother was down with a chronic disease. She was fine when virtual-novel.net was younger as it had little to no impact on her. But as virtual-novel.net aged, it was becoming severe as time passed.
In the last six months, it was so serious that virtual-novel.net could not get out of bed.
If the disease continued deteriorating at this pace, it would take less than a month for a funeral to beheld. Gabriel studied medicine himself and virtual-novel.net understood how serious virtual-novel.net condition was. It was highly unlikely for his mother to survive this month itself.
That was the reason for his anxiety.
“Gabriel…”
“Mum…”
Gabriel held virtual-novel.net mother’s hand tightly and asked, “What do you want to eat mum? I’ll go buy it for you.”
“I don’t want to eat anything Gabriel. I just want to talk to you. My days are numbered now, when I’m gone, you’ll have to take care of yourself.”
“Don’t say that mom, that will not happen. I am already in close contact with Dr. Dawson and virtual-novel.net told me that there is a way to cure your disease. He is currently working on the prescription and there will be a result soon.”
“Sighs, Gabriel, do you think I don’t know what state my body is in? Don’t go bothering others already.”
“I am not bothering others at all.”
The more they spoke, the sadder virtual-novel.net was. Gabriel could not stop himself from tearing up.
His phone rang at this moment.
Gabriel wiped his tears before virtual-novel.net took a look at his phone and went wild with joy. Brad Dawson was calling him!”
“Hello Dr. Dawson, is there anything I can do for you?”
“Gabriel, the medical prescription for your mother is ready. Are you free now? Come over to my place.”
“Of course I am free. I will head over immediately!”
“Okay, I will be waiting.”
He hung up feeling overjoyed. He held his mother’s hand and said, “Mum, Dr. Dawson finally came up with the prescription for you. I will head over now. Very soon you will feel much better.”
After virtual-novel.net finished his talk with his mother, virtual-novel.net left but not before leaving some instructions with the nanny. In less than forty minutes, virtual-novel.net arrived at Brad Dawson’s medical facility.
“I am here, Dr. Dawson.”
“Mhmm, come over here.”
Brad Dawson asked Gabriel Frost to sit beside him. He then pulled out a prescription list and placed it on the table.
“This is the prescription we came up with to fight against your mother’s chronic disease. We believe we can cure it.”
“Is this for real?”
“Gabriel, you study medicine as well. As for whether if it is the real deal or not, you will know after taking a look.”
Gabrial could not wait any longer. He took the prescription and started checking the herbs in the list one by one.
The first few herbs on the list were effective against his mother’s disease. But they were exceedingly common. Gabriel himself had used some of the herbs before. There was nothing strange about that. He continued on with the list.
He was stunned at the number eleventh herb.
“Cassia seed?”
Cassia seed was cold in nature and so was his mother’s sickness. Would it not cause the disease to accelerate?
Making it worse and quickening virtual-novel.net death?
Gabriel, not understanding, asked, “Dr. Dawson, this cassia seed… Does not seem to be suitable at all, right?”
Brad Dawson laughed and asked, “Gabriel, you understand herbs pretty well yourself. After using so many herbs all year round, what have you learned?”
Gabriel sighed. “Indeed I tried using many types of herbs, but it did not work well. The most it can do is temporarily controlling it.”
“That’s right,” Brad explained. “The medicine you use is too common and conservative. Just like the other herbs in this prescription. Although they provide positive results against your mother’s disease, they cannot cure it. Temporarily controlling it will not last long as well, and the disease will relapse, coming back much stronger than before.”
Too conservative in his utilization of herbs?
Gabriel frowned. Indeed virtual-novel.net was a little conservative but this cassia seed was out of the question. This was not the problem about being conservative or not, but this was sending his mother off himself!
Brad Dawson saw doubts in his eyes.
“Gabriel, you don’t understand why I am using cassia seeds, don’t you?
“It is true that cassia seed is of the cold nature. And your mother’s disease is the same too. It cannot be denied that using cassia seed might appear to be aggravating the disease. But there are always two sides to a coin.”
Gabriel sincerely asked virtual-novel.net for guidance, “Dr. Dawson, I’m willing to learn. Please enlighten me.”
Brad Dawson stroked his beard and continued, “I am using cassia seeds to fight poison with poison!”
