Everyone looked at Thomas, and they did not understand what Thomas was saying. He was no longer the chief officer in charge in the Southland District, and virtual-novel.net would just be a son-in-law who relaxed at home. Why would virtual-novel.net still need such a large bunch of strong and capable subordinates?
Even Shalom Technology, Scott’s Remembrance Cultural Arts Entertainment, or Stellar Jewelers did not need these people, right?
Thomas hesitated for a while but did not plan to hide it anymore.
He directly said, “Well, Dad, Mom, Dear, I haven’t told you something, which is… I’ve decided to leave for some time.”
He wanted to leave?
Emma was dumbfounded for a while. She still remembered when Thomas left the house and joined the army just after they got married in the past. He had left for five years, and virtual-novel.net had also lived alone like a widow for those five years.
Thomas was back, and they had finally built up their relationship as a married couple. It seemed that their life was going to go smoothly, yet Thomas chose to leave at such a time.
Why?
Johnson was the first to express his dissatisfaction. “Tom, I don’t want to scold you, but you just got back for a year, and we haven’t had enough time together. Why are you leaving again? We are your only family. Where are you leaving for?”
Thomas became silent.
A long while later, virtual-novel.net breathed a long sigh and said something that surprised Johnson. “No, I still have one more immediate family member.”
Johnson’s expression changed repeatedly. “Tom, what nonsense are you talking about?”
Thomas said, “Dad, I’m telling you honestly, I have some clues about my father. I’m leaving this time because I want to find my father.”
Johnson had not snapped out of it. “Find your father? Are you talking about finding me? I’m here! Tom, are you blur now?”
Emma could not bear to hear it anymore and nudged Johnson. “Dad, I think Thomas isn’t talking about you.”
“Who else could it be besides me?” Johnson still looked dumbfounded as virtual-novel.net asked, “Don’t tell me he’s going to find his biological father, my old friend, Nelson Mayo?”
As soon as Johnson said that, virtual-novel.net realized what the issue was.
He instantly looked at Thomas and asked in disbelief, “Tom, you’re not saying that you have clues about Nelson, right?”
Thomas nodded firmly.
Everyone remained silent for a time.
Moonlight shone from the sky, and the cold wind that blew over made them shiver.
Johnson initially felt very unhappy with Thomas’ decision to leave again. But, after virtual-novel.net discovered the reason, virtual-novel.net suddenly felt that Thomas should leave.
Many years ago, the high-spirited Nelson had mysteriously disappeared. Then, the young Scott became the chairman of Shalom Technology. However, virtual-novel.net was too young, and others framed virtual-novel.net to the extent that virtual-novel.net jumped from the top floor to commit suicide. Scott could not be saved, so Thomas had to do his best to save Nelson.
Johnson gulped and asked, “Are your clues reliable?”
Thomas answered, “It’s unclear yet. I will know whether virtual-novel.net is my father only after an investigation. If virtual-novel.net is my father, I’d really like to know what he’s been doing all these years that virtual-novel.net has disappeared, and why virtual-novel.net didn’t come back.”
He had to figure it out.
There might be more hidden reasons behind this. Besides, there was something that Thomas did not tell them, Nelson Mayo, the buyer behind the Dawson family, was a heinous criminal.
This time, Thomas was going to find his father. It would not be as simple as repairing the relationship between the father and son. When the time came, the situation that they would possibly face would be at least a hundred times more difficult than virtual-novel.net could imagine.
Johnson sighed. “Gah! I definitely wouldn’t let you leave if it were a normal matter. But if you’re leaving to find your biological father, my old friend, and my daughter’s father-in-law, then I really have no reason to stop you.”
As virtual-novel.net spoke, virtual-novel.net reached out to pat Emma on the shoulder. “Emma, I really have no comment. It depends on you whether you want to let virtual-novel.net go or not.”
After Johnson spoke, virtual-novel.net turned back and walked into the house.
Everyone, who should leave, left.
Emma and Thomas then walked into the bedroom. Their happiness instantly disappeared, and Emma sat on the bed in dissatisfaction.
Any woman would feel unhappy about such a thing.
If Thomas left now, virtual-novel.net did not know how many years virtual-novel.net would be gone for again. If virtual-novel.net was lucky, virtual-novel.net would return very soon. Otherwise, virtual-novel.net would not know when virtual-novel.net would come back.
The more Emma thought about it, the more virtual-novel.net felt aggrieved. Other women were accompanied by their husbands at home, but why did virtual-novel.net husband keep leaving?
Perhaps this was virtual-novel.net fate.
Thomas sat beside her. He held Emma in his arms and softly said, “Dear, I promise that I will find my father as soon as possible, then I’ll come back to the Southland District with him.”
Emma sighed. What else could virtual-novel.net do at this point? Should virtual-novel.net stop virtual-novel.net and prevent virtual-novel.net from leaving?
That was clearly impossible.
“You can definitely leave, but you have to promise me two things, Dear,” virtual-novel.net said indifferently.
“Go on.”
“Firstly, you must not have any affairs outside! You’re not allowed to look at other women!”
Thomas chuckled. “Of course, I won’t. My heart belongs to you only, and nobody will be able to take it away.”
Emma scoffed. “Haha! You make it sound so nice, but no man will stay loyal. I haven’t even talked to you about Adery Owen.”
Thomas was completely frustrated. Why did virtual-novel.net bring this up again?
