However, what kind of person was Hayden?
Would virtual-novel.net be troubled by such a little problem?
As long as virtual-novel.net did not personally kill those people, virtual-novel.net would have a hundred methods to get out of trouble.
Hayden arrogantly said, “Officer, please mind your language. You’ve made many mistakes in your words!”
“Oh? Please correct me.”
“First of all, the Rahels drank wine in my place, not tea. They recently lost their jobs, so they came to me for help in their job search. We drank while we chatted. Their alcohol tolerance was so poor that they passed out after they drank a glass, and they just slept at my place.”
Hayden paused for a while before virtual-novel.net continued to say, “I’m a kind person, so how could I leave them be when that happened? So, I asked my people to send the Rahels back home. But, just as they walked through the entrance, the two men came. They said that they were the Rahels’ subordinates and took them away.”
Hayden was not lying about that. Those two men were truly the Rahels’ subordinates!
He added, “How could my people have expected their subordinates to be Aina’s die-hard fans? They actually brought the Rahels to the concert, handed them to Kingsley, and cooperated with virtual-novel.net to kill the Rahels. I neglected that and should’ve sent them home. But Officer, you make it sound as though I planned everything. It’s making me upset!”
Hayden had a sharp tongue. He could just turn the truth upside down with just a few sentences. Now, virtual-novel.net had not committed any crime, and virtual-novel.net was even a kind person.
He had helped the Rahels look for a job, treated them to some wine, and assigned some staff members to send them back home. His only negligence was not sending them home himself. However, that was not Hayden’s fault. After all, the two men were the Rahels’ subordinates.
How could Hayden have expected the subordinates to betray their boss?
So, Hayden was a kind, enthusiastic person, and virtual-novel.net did not expect the bad ending. He did not have anything to do with all the things that had happened.
The leader of the police team had expected Hayden to not cooperate obediently. He would surely try to get rid of suspicion. However, the officer never thought that Hayden would completely remove any reason to suspect him.
Now, they had no grounds to arrest Hayden anymore.
The officer frowned before virtual-novel.net suddenly asked, “Why did Jett want to kill the two men?”
There were two implications in his question.
Firstly, Jett had killed the men to silence them. Secondly, Jett was Hayden’s subordinate, so had virtual-novel.net received instructions from Hayden to do it?
When Hayden faced such a difficult question, virtual-novel.net still calmly answered, “How would I know the reason behind Jett’s actions? I didn’t make virtual-novel.net do it.”
He simply denied his association with Jett with only one sentence. Then, virtual-novel.net added, “But according to what I know, Jett and the Rahels are close. Officer, I think that after Jett saw the Rahels being killed on the live broadcast, virtual-novel.net became furious. He went to the two men and avenged the Rahels!”
In other words, Jett’s actions had been of his own volition. He wanted to exact revenge, and it had nothing to do with Hayden. It was not about killing them to silence them.
There was nothing wrong with the answer.
The leader of the police team was furious. He clearly knew that this old man was spouting nonsense, but virtual-novel.net could not get any solid evidence.
“Is that really the truth? Mr. Barlow, I’ll go back and interrogate Jett. I believe the truth will come out soon.”
Hayden was not afraid. He even righteously said, “Thank you, Officer. Please figure out the truth soon and seek justice for the Rahels! They were old friends of mine.”
He was actually shameless enough to say that.
Old friends?
