In such a difficult circumstance, conveying messages was practically impossible.
Just as everyone was feeling down, Blake spotted a Buddhist prayer necklace hanging from Phoebe’s neck and asked, “What’s that?”
Phoebe pointed to the necklace and said, “Oh, this? My dad got this from a monastery and told me to put it on. He said that it would keep me safe…”
“Oh?” Blake was a little skeptical about the situation. “As far as I’m aware, Blake was never a Buddhist.”
“You’re right,” Phoebe replied with a nod. “Dad has never believed in something like this before. I’m not sure why he suddenly wanted me to put this on today.”
“Phoebe, take off the necklace and let me have a look at it please.”
Phoebe removed the necklace and handed it over to Blake.
Blake observed the necklace continuously and felt each bead on it. Finally, he discovered that one of the beads was hollow and that it could even be twisted open!
Everyone’s eyes lit up in surprise.
Blake twisted open the bead and there was a small strip of paper inside. When he unfolded the paper, there were three words written on it, “Harmony Monastery, Rosary.”
“Harmony Monastery? Rosary?” Pisces scratched his head in confusion. “What does that mean?”
“Harmony Monastery is Celandine City’s most well-known monastery. Legend says that an eminent monk died while meditating, holding a rosary that’s passed down through the generations as well…”
“Is it possible that what Declan meant was for Thomas to go to Harmony Monastery and get the rosary?” Blake made a guess.
It looked most likely to be true based on the message of the note. It was just that no one understood why he wanted the rosary.
To sell it?
To keep them safe?
Obviously, none of that was the case.
At that moment, everyone really had no idea what the rosary was used for. However, if it was Declan that delivered the message, it must contain useful information; otherwise, he would not have put his life on the line by hiding the message in the Buddhist prayer necklace.
Pisces chuckled and said, “I’ve always heard about unique hidden messages, but now I’ve seen one that’s actually hidden in a Buddhist prayer necklace. This is interesting.”
“What do you mean it’s interesting? Mr. Mars is risking his own life just to send us a message right now,” Thomas said coldly.
Pisces stuck his tongue out.
Phoebe, who was in the middle of eating, wiped her mouth and said, “Why didn’t my dad tell me about the hidden message in the necklace right away? I wouldn’t know about it if it weren’t for Uncle Winslow’s keen eyes, and we’d just miss the message, wouldn’t we?”
“This is due to two reasons. First, the circumstances do not permit it. People are watching both of you while you speak, just as you said, so he didn’t get a chance to explain it to you in detail. He couldn’t even give you a hint. Second, he’s trying to protect you. If the message was discovered by others and you were unaware of it, you would be free from punishments and he would be responsible for all of the consequences,” Thomas explained.
He had to admit that Declan was an excellent father. He was bold but cautious at the same time.
Thomas pulled out a lighter and burned the note.
“Looks like we’ll be paying Harmony Monastery a visit,” he mumbled to himself.
A rosary and the Harmony Monastery.
Why exactly did Declan want Thomas to get something like this at this point in time?
He believed that once he arrived at Harmony Monastery, he would have the answer.
“Please enjoy your meal, Phoebe and Mr. Winslow. I’ll be taking my leave now,” Thomas said.
“Just go,” Blake urged with a wave of his hands. “Important matters need to be settled first.”
