At noon, the sun shone brightly.
Thomas chose a day with great weather to visit Octopole Arena in Celandine City. Good weather usually led to a good mood. It was always the best choice to go and ask for the ointment in such weather.
After Thomas expressed the purpose of his visit, he entered the martial arts center.
Thomas was someone who also practiced martial arts. When he saw the various weapons in the martial arts center, he had the urge to exercise his skills.
Soon, he met the person in charge of Octopole Arena, Bryson Torres.
“Mr. Torres…” Thomas nodded.
Bryson cast a glance at Thomas and had an unamused expression. That made Thomas slightly worried.
He did not have any conflict with Bryson, did he?
Why was Bryson expressing disdain toward him when it was just their first time meeting?
Bryson looked slightly annoyed as he said, “Thomas Mayo… Mr. Mayo, I’ve heard of your name for a long time. You’ve been causing a stir in Celandine City recently.”
Thomas smiled faintly as he answered, “Don’t laugh at me, Mr. Torres, but I’m here today to ask for your help.”
Bryson was stunned. “Ask for my help? Mr. Mayo, you come from a strong background. What do you need my help for? Are you joking?”
Thomas did not rush to reveal the reason. He waved his hand and asked Pisces to deliver the three gifts.
“These three gifts are a sign of my sincerity. I hope you find them all right.”
The three boxes were then opened.
The first box contained three pieces of centennial ginseng, and each of them was extremely valuable!
People who practiced martial arts frequently got injured, and that ginseng was the best healing herb.
They opened the second box, and it contained a long sword!
Thomas had looked into it before and discovered that Bryson loved swords the most. Bryson was a regular collector of swords, so if Thomas delivered him a sword, he should be satisfied.
Lastly, they opened the third box.
The item within was simpler and more direct. It was a bank card that contained $10,000,000!
Heroes could be defeated by money, and many who practiced martial arts usually lacked money. Therefore, money was usually useful for many practicing individuals.
Besides, who would hate money?
Even if Bryson did not lack money, would he not be happy when he saw the bank card with $10,000,000?
The three gifts were full of sincerity, and one could say that trading those three gifts for one bottle of ointment was totally worth it. However, Bryson’s eyes lit up only when he saw the sword before he quickly schooled his expression again.
That meant Bryson was not a greedy person.
He said, “Mr. Mayo, these gifts are too expensive. I’m just a person who practices martial arts, so I can’t accept them.”
Thomas knew that Bryson was “asking for guidance”.
People always said one should not accept rewards without deserving them. If Thomas did not make his intentions clear, Bryson would not dare to accept the gifts.
Thomas did not beat around the bush either and directly said, “Let me be honest with you. One of my friends is injured, and only the ancestral ointment from Octopole Arena can cure him. I’d like to trade these three gifts for the ointment. Mr. Torres, can you please make an exception?”
Make an exception?
Pisces secretly thought, ‘Make an exception? Bryson is gaining a huge advantage by trading a bottle of ointment for these three big gifts!’
Theoretically, that was something nobody would turn down.
Yet, Bryson frowned.
He waved his hand in dismissal and said, “We never give or lend Octopole Arena’s ancestral ointment to outsiders! Mr. Mayo, I’m sorry, but I can’t help you. See Mr. Mayo out please!”
