Libra returned to the VIP resting lounge in the hospital and met up with Thomas and the group.
“You did a great job,” Thomas handed him a glass of water.
Libra accepted it and took a drink.
That fight earlier had been too dangerous and exhausting, affecting him both physically and mentally. If he had not paid attention, he would have died.
He said, “That was a really tough job. Sky Dog was like a ghost. I couldn’t find his exact location or hit him at all. He was always ambushing me. How annoying!”
That was where the greatness of an S-level ninja skill lay.
Ryosuke said, “I understand the basics of the Flute-Killing Art.”
Both of them were geniuses who only appeared once every few centuries. Ryosuke’s talent was no worse than Sky Dog’s. After his preliminary observation, he formed his own understanding.
Compared with Libra, who knew nothing about ninja skills, it was easier for Ryosuke to find a flaw.
“The sound of the flute is just camouflage. It distracts and messes up his rival’s attention. It’s because of the flute’s melody that we couldn’t see his flaw and we saw Sky Dog turn into smoke,” he analyzed.
“Secondly, Sky Dog’s skills in sneaking around are topnotch. He hides in the dark, and the moment he risks showing any flaws, he immediately attacks to kill.”
Ryosuke paused for a while before he held one finger up. “But the Flute-Killing Art has a huge weakness. If someone pierces his ear and can’t hear the flute’s melody, he won’t be distracted. Then, as long as he’s confident about avoiding fatal attacks and using his body as a lure to attract Sky Dog and ‘catch’ him, it’ll be possible to kill him.”
Killing Sky Dog actually entailed dying together with him. The plan was to let Sky Dog stab Ryosuke’s own body so that he could catch Sky Dog and kill him before Ryosuke died.
A regular person probably could not do it, but Ryosuke could. The strength of his quick draw technique was its speed.
Using his quick draw technique would allow him to carry out his plan and successfully kill Sky Dog. But if that was the case, Ryosuke would not come out alive.
After Thomas listened to Ryosuke’s plan, he kept shaking his head. He did not consent to it.
He said, “Do you still remember what I said in the beginning? Sky Dog can only be caught alive. We can’t kill him, much less sacrifice your life in exchange for his.”
If the ninja world lost geniuses like Sky Dog and Ryosuke at the same time, it would be a huge tragedy.
Thomas said, “Now’s not the time for desperation. We don’t have to give up our lives for Sky Dog.”
He cast a glance at Sky Dog, who was still playing his flute. “All of you, wait here. It’s my turn to go.”
“You?” Ryosuke was incredibly surprised. “Thomas, you know very little about that ninja skill. You might get yourself killed. You’re his target, so he’ll deal with you more ruthlessly than when he dealt with Libra. It’s too dangerous for you to go!”
Pisces also added, “I think Ryosuke is right. Commander, you can’t go.”
Thomas chuckled.
“Do you think I’ll die? If I can’t even handle such a small challenge, I’d be useless… Don’t worry, I’ve got a good picture of the situation from the battle earlier. Even if I can’t catch Sky Dog, I’m confident that I can protect myself.”
The God of War had nothing to fear!
Everyone was unable to convince Thomas, so they could only watch as he entered the fight.
After Thomas exited the hospital, he stood in front of Sky Dog and said, “I’m Thomas Mayo, the person you’re planning to kill!”
Sky Dog’s eyes lit up, and his gaze clearly changed. He thought that Thomas would keep hiding. Unexpectedly Thomas took the initiative to step out.
Why?
Did he look down on Sky Dog’s Flute-Killing Art?
