Mrs. Morgan glared at Lucia and scoffed. “Young lady, you should never judge a book by its cover. Yes, I’m old, and it’s hard for me to walk, so it’s naturally impossible for me to assassinate Thomas. I could never be the opponent of a top expert like Thomas even if I were in my twenties, much less now.”

So why did she insist on assassinating him?

Was she playing a trick on them?

Lucia expressed anger on her face, and Lord Vedastus even slammed his hand on the table.

“You’re wasting our time. Get lost!” he yelled.

Lord Vedastus turned back, cast a glance at her, and asked, “What else can we do besides assassinate him? Poison him or attack him by force? Do you think those strategies are possible?”

Poisoning him was impossible.

Thomas was a medical expert, and a lot of people around him would make sure to test for poison, so there would be no chance for that. As for attacking by force, just forget it.

Eric had arranged for a large police force to guard Thomas. There were so many guns involved.

Would someone be able to rush inside?

Mrs. Morgan grinned. “I won’t attack by force, poison, or even assassination. I have a special method that can kill Thomas.”

Her words were profound, instantly catching Lord Vedastus and Lucia’s attention.

Lord Vedastus curiously asked, “A special method? What is it?”

Mrs. Morgan snickered like a rat, and her laughter made them shudder with fear.

“There’s just one word to my strategy. It’s a curse!”

When Lord Vedastus heard the word, he chuckled. “Those superstitions are nonsense! You’re really a scammer, old lady. Get out!”

He did not believe Mrs. Morgan.

Despite that, Mrs. Morgan confidently said, “Lord Vedastus, don’t be hasty. I usually work before I get paid. I’ll help you get rid of Thomas first, then I’ll take the money.”
