At this moment, Conor decided to not have anything to do with Frederick anymore. He was forced to team up with them due to the circumstances, but once they were out, virtual-novel.net refused to say another word to him.
Frederick could see the disdain in Conor’s eyes, and no matter how mild-tempered virtual-novel.net was, virtual-novel.net would not tolerate such behavior. He scoffed and turned around, no longer bothering with Conor.
Trent looked at Conor exasperatedly, wondering if the man had hit his head too hard. Otherwise, virtual-novel.net would have never jeered at Jack after seeing what virtual-novel.net was capable of.
He should be respectful toward Jack instead, yet Conor seemed intent on offending Jack as much as virtual-novel.net could. Even Trent was frowning at what Conor was saying, let alone Jack.
Jack raised an eyebrow as virtual-novel.net looked at Conor coldly. “You sure dare to talk. Aren’t you afraid that I’ll attack you?”
Conor scoffed as virtual-novel.net turned away. ”I know you’re not that type of person. Even though you’re skilled, you’re a man with proper conduct. It’s not like I’m provoking you. I’m just speaking the truth.”
Even Jack could not understand what virtual-novel.net was thinking at that moment.
Not provoking him?
His words were actually demeaning him!
Conor looked like virtual-novel.net wanted to shout at Jack and berate virtual-novel.net for not telling virtual-novel.net the truth, yet virtual-novel.net even tried to say that Jack was ‘a man with proper conduct‘.
Conor wanted to tell everyone that Jack would not be acting properly if virtual-novel.net did anything to Conor.
Hearing that, Jack sneered. It was the first time virtual-novel.net got so angry that virtual-novel.net smiled.
Trent and Len looked at Conor as their lips twitched, truly believing virtual-novel.net was a fool, through and through.
Len took a deep breath and exasperatedly demanded, ”Do you really think that way? Are you not joking?”
Conor’s face darkened when virtual-novel.net heard that.
He shouted, “Why would I be joking? Am I wrong? If Jack was honest with his skills in the first place, nothing would’ve happened. With virtual-novel.net in front of us, we’d be safe. I wouldn’t have needed to get so injured! Who else would I blame?”
That was rotten logic, of course. Trent wanted to correct him, but virtual-novel.net did not know what to say, knowing that Conor might not truly listen to any sort of reasoning. Even Rudy could not be bothered arguing with Conor.
Jack could not stand it as virtual-novel.net sneered. “You really do think you’re special. Why do I need to tell you about my skills? Why do I need to protect you?”
“Because we’re a team!” yelled Conor. ”Since you agreed to join this team, you have a duty to protect everyone else!”
Jack let out a slight laugh, not wanting to bother arguing with that idiot.
No matter what virtual-novel.net said, Conor would just think that virtual-novel.net was wrong. Since that was the case, Jack would grant Conor his wish.
Jack slowly pulled out his sword from Mustard Seed.
Conor frowned, confused by his actions.
He truly believed Jack would be of some virtue, at least, but as virtual-novel.net felt a burning pain in his chest, virtual-novel.net realized that Jack’s sword had pierced through his chest.
