Jamie lifted his head and looked around before he told Jasmine, “We continue fonrward.”
The moment that was said, they heard heavy footsteps from ahead, and it was obvious that it was not a human’s. It must be from a massive-sized beast.
Jamie once again looked over, seeing an Ice Toad leaping over from afar.
Strangely enough, someone was in front of the Ice Toad, which reminded them of the figure with the Crimson Tortoise. Jamie frowned, immediately feeling like something was off.
“There’s another one, and there’s someone in front of this one too,” remarked Jasmine warily. “What is happening?”
What made Jamie and Jasmine even more curious was the fact that the massive toad actually changed directions as well, going in the same direction as the Crimson Tortoise. Even Jasmine realized something was wrong.
“There has to be a problem,” insisted Jasmine. “Something’s happening! Josua, let’s go take a look!”
Jamie nodded. “Let’s go there right now.”
The two of them increased their pace, following the massive Ice Toad. The toad was not that quick, so the two of them were able to follow closely behind.
There were positives and negatives about massive beasts.
Normally, the larger beasts were very sturdy and strong, but they rarely moved quickly on account of their size.
To not attract attention, Jamie and Jasmine made sure to keep some distance. The two of them followed the Ice Toad for four kilometers, and everything the persona and the beast did were seen by them.
Jasmine’s eyes widened as he said, “Is he activating a transmission rune?! This person is strange. I feel like he’s not that slow. If he wanted to flee, it wouldn’t be too difficult…”
“Paul just keeps running forward and attacking behind him, angering the Ice Toad before he quickens his speed to avoid the toad’s attack. After that, he’ll slow down and keep an even pace. It’s like he’s just luring the beast forward, but where to?”
Jamie frowned, suddenly having a thought in his mind.
To keep the element of surprise, the two of them kept their distance, so he could not see what that person was wearing and if they were from a second or third-grade world.
Regardless, something was amiss with that individual.
Jasmine frowned and asked, “What do you think he’s saying through the transmission rune?”
Jamie took a deep breath as he continued forward, saying in a low voice, “Paul might be trying to confirm his location. After all, there’s still a Crimson Tortoise that’s around the same level. The fact that they’re acting similarly means they must have the same goal. I wonder whose plan this is…”
Jasmine nodded, feeling like Jamie was right. The man probably tried to determine the other person’s location.
Jasmine had various thoughts in his mind, but he was not as smart as Jamie.
After a long time, he could not figure it out. “What exactly are they doing? Josua, do you know?”
Jamie shook his head. “I have some guesses, but without any evidence, I can’t be sure. Let’s not throw out any wild guesses. We’ll see where they’re going.”
Time slowly ticked away. Two hours passed before the Ice Toad finally slowed down. The person in front of the toad once again started to communicate. This time, he activated two transmission runes at the same time, seemingly making a final confirmation.
Jamie did not want to get too close, so he started to slow down.
Jasmine frowned and said, “It should be around here, but I don’t see anything at all. I don’t even see that Crimson Tortoise.”
