The moment Sandra said that, a rumble could be heard from ahead of them. Lifting his head, he spotted the Crimson Tortoise he had just talked about.
The massive shell was filled with red-colored seals, and its whole body was surrounded by heat waves. In front of the Crimson Tortoise was a man in gray robes, the man they had seen.
Sandra’s lips twitched. “It’s a plot! This is definitely a plot!”
Anyone would have been able to figure that out. It was just that Sandra could not understand why they were doing that. Abraham anxiously pulled at his hair, and his heart was beating rapidly, getting more and more anxious as he thought about it.
Sandra looked at the two that were far away. “Those two are warriors from second-grade worlds, and they must be plotting against those from third-grade worlds. Surely we can’t just do nothing about it!”
After that was said, Sandra shut his mouth and held his tongue. Even though the two of them were from Hestia, a third-grade world, they could not stick their hands into everything as though they were saviors of third-grade worlds.
The other warriors from third-grade worlds would not truly appreciate them, anyway. It was a world where the strong were worshiped; hard work got nothing. When there were no benefits for themselves, it was better to not interfere with anything.
Steven turned to look at Sandra. “We’ll look at the situation for now, but let’s keep following them. If we’re patient enough, we might gain something. We came here for ourselves, not to save anyone. It’s not like anyone will thank you for it, anyway.”
Sandra hurriedly nodded, no longer daring to say anything.
The two that were far away started to close in. The one in front of the Ice Toad made a hand signal to the one in front of the Crimson Tortoise.
Steven and Sandra could see the other man nodding. The man in front of the Ice Toad immediately changed directions to head southeast.
The one with the Crimson Tortoise went northeast. The two of them seemed to be heading in two different directions at a 45-degree angle, but Steven was almost sure that they were headed to the same place.
Sandra said anxiously, “Josef, they separated. Who are we going to follow?”
Steven took a deep breath as his eyes darted around.
Various thoughts formed in his head. It was an important moment. If he was not careful, he could very well lead himself to disaster. Abraham needed to keep absolutely calm to make the best decision.
After a few moments of silence, Steven pointed forward. “We won’t follow either of them. We’ll go east!”
Sandra was stunned. His lips froze, and he was going to ask the reason.
However, Steven did not plan on explaining as he shot forward, going as quickly as he could toward the east.
Sandra opened his mouth but did not say anything in the end, only following Steven.
Abraham was sure that Steven knew where to go, but not the reason they were going there. Abraham did not know why Steven made the decision. It was clear that following one of the two was the safest choice, but Steven never made the wrong decision before.
Sandra swallowed his questions.
As they proceeded eastward, Sandra was surprised to notice that the wastelands were starting to change in shape. Small hills began to be seen. The ground was uneven as if it had been smashed out by something.
Sandra looked down to inspect it as he went forward. Some of those craters were formed by attacks, while some were natural. They were heading trite toward the east, which happened to be right at the center of Chaos City.
