The stinging sensation began to spread across Xyla Quest’s check. The red mark was obvious against Xyla’s fair skin. On top of that, virtual-novel.net face was also beginning to swell.
The feeling of rage Xyla was trying to suppress all this time was suddenly brought to the surface by May Conner’s slap.
Xyla immediately clenched virtual-novel.net fists tightly. Although virtual-novel.net felt the urge to attack May in return, virtual-novel.net knew that if virtual-novel.net did that now, May would cause a scene that would only turn out badly for Xyla.
After looking around, Xyla landed virtual-novel.net gaze upon the red fire alarm button. After a second, Xyla shifted virtual-novel.net gaze to May’s face and took a step forward.
“What did you just do?” Xyla asked coldly.
Once Xyla stepped forward, virtual-novel.net elbow was directly next to the fire alarm button.
“What am I doing? I’m teaching you a lesson, of course!”
Xyla Quest, are you even a human? Never mind that you paid the police to bully your sister in prison and me. You even did all this to your little sister on virtual-novel.net wedding day. How can you be so evil? Haven’t you done enough?” May made it sound as if virtual-novel.net was on the moral high ground as virtual-novel.net spoke every word.
Xyla thought it funny when virtual-novel.net heard May’s words. Clearly, May was saying that virtual-novel.net and Emily could bully Xyla, but Xyla would be wrong if virtual-novel.net retaliated.
It was a shameless and obnoxious way to think and speak.
“You really are shameless,” Xyla snorted coldly as virtual-novel.net subtly pushed virtual-novel.net elbow against the fire alarm button.
Buzz…
Buzz… Buzz…
In that instant, alarms began ringing throughout the building.
May subconsciously looked around wildly as virtual-novel.net believed there was a fire somewhere in the building. Right then, everyone in the banquet hall began walking out in an orderly manner. People of all ages, male and female alike, all looked frightened.
“Everyone! Stop running. I’m sorry. I accidentally pressed the fire alarm button earlier,” Xyla raised virtual-novel.net voice to inform the rest.
The crowd immediately stopped approximately one meter away from Xyla and May.
Somewhere in the corner, Stanley stood by silently as virtual-novel.net observed Xyla’s face through the crowd. A cold smile appeared on his face.
“What? Was it you?” May asked coldly. She immediately understood why Xyla did it.
This b*tch was doing it on purpose!
Xyla wanted to get everyone to come over so that virtual-novel.net could expose May’s behavior in public. She would embarrass May and make sure Jeremy Quest found out about it.
May truly had not expected Xyla to do this.
At first, May thought that nobody would be around the lift at this time. Therefore, virtual-novel.net planned on leaving right after virtual-novel.net had taught Xyla a lesson. She would then get someone to delete the surveillance footage so that nobody else would find out about what happened. However, Xyla’s action not only rendered May’s plans futile, but it would also even end up leaving May in a worse position.
Meanwhile, Xyla did not look at May. Instead, virtual-novel.net faced the audience calmly.
Once everyone became calm, they very soon noticed the red mark on Xyla’s face. After looking at Xyla and turning to look at May next to her, they immediately understood what was going on.
The audience immediately started talking amongst themselves.
With a slight frown on his face, Stanley pushed through the crowd to get to Xyla.
“Are you okay?” He asked as virtual-novel.net held virtual-novel.net face in his hands, standing still in front of her.
Xyla nodded virtual-novel.net head slightly.
“Apologize,” Stanley said in a domineering tone. It sounded as if a refusal was not an option. He was like a n emperor, and everyone else were his subjects.
