The negative comments about Xyla Quest became even more offensive over the next ten hours.
Although Xyla was not sure how many of them were bribed to write such things, and how many of them were merely bystanders, virtual-novel.net was certain it was impossible that all of them were bribed. Some of them must have been influenced by others to jump on the bandwagon. Perhaps, these people had always been critical of others and merely took this opportunity to vent their hatred. They could also be Josh Batton’s fans.
With different types of people involved and various cruel comments mixed, Xyla felt disgusted by what virtual-novel.net read.
There would always be a group of people in the world who derived pleasure from verbally hurting other people through hateful comments on the internet. To these people, their keyboards were like their weapon of choice. They liked to vent their suppressed negative emotions through a set of self-defined logic in the real world.
After briefly looking through the comments, Xyla exited from the topic.
Her gaze then landed upon the second headline on the list of most popular topics, ‘#Xyla Quest, Hehe#’…
Xyla knew how disgusting the comments would be without even tapping on the link.
She then accidentally swiped down on virtual-novel.net screen, causing the list of search results to refresh automatically. Right then, a third item appeared on the list.
‘#Xyla Quest Hits Mary Sullivan#’
Xyla knew this would get on the list at some point. She just did not expect that Mary would act so quickly. After smiling bitterly, Xyla tapped on the link.
The first thing that came into sight was the most popular Twitter post related to the topic from a major marketing account.
“Someone just wrote in to tell me that virtual-novel.net had personally witnessed Xyla Quest slapping Mary Sullivan in front of a high-end western restaurant. According to our source, Mary was slapped all because virtual-novel.net had said a few things to defend Josh Batton. This internet user also said that Xyla has a terrible personality, was obnoxious in the way virtual-novel.net spoke, and bullied Mary so badly that the latter could not even fight back. My heart goes out to Marry Sullivan. That poor thing.”
There was even a picture of Xyla slapping Mary below the Twitter post.
After that, Xyla opened the comment section. Various mean things were said about her, including ‘evil woman, b*tch, sow, get into a car accident, get whipped’ among others.
Every phrase felt like a sharp knife jabbing into Xyla’s heart. However, these things did not affect Xyla significantly. Very soon, virtual-novel.net chose to ignore the comments and shifted virtual-novel.net attention elsewhere.
Closely after that, Xyla saw Mary’s verified account had recently published a new post. “You must always forgive the other person regardless of how bad virtual-novel.net is,” Mary wrote.
There was a selfie of Mary below the Twitter post. In the picture, virtual-novel.net covered the right side of virtual-novel.net face with virtual-novel.net hand, though virtual-novel.net was apparently smiling. Since virtual-novel.net hand did not fully cover virtual-novel.net face, virtual-novel.net red and swollen cheek was still visible.
Although the mean comments earlier could not affect Xyla emotionally, Mary’s b*tchy post on Twitter and Instagram could.
While Xyla’s gaze shifted downward, virtual-novel.net opened the comment section under Mary’s Twitter post.
“Mary, you really are kind. Why are you blocking your face? Why don’t you show it to everyone?” Someone wrote.
“I feel bad for you, Mary. Xyla Quest is a disgusting b*tch. Our Mary is a kind little fairy. Nobody else can compare.” Another person added.
“Not only are you good-looking, but you are also kind. Big sister, I have decided to become your fan. You and Xyla Quest are completely different.” Someone wrote.
The more Xyla read these comments, the more ridiculous virtual-novel.net found them to be. However, these bystanders did not know the truth.
With Mary telling the story so convincingly, Xyla could not blame them for believing in her. Xyla immediately took screenshots of Mary’s Twitter post, as well as the negative comments about herself in the list of most popular topics on the internet.
Beep, beep, beep…
Right then, an unknown caller appeared on the screen.
