On the other end of the phone, Xyla Quest was still on the edge of virtual-novel.net seat. She clutched the phone tightly in virtual-novel.net hand and virtual-novel.net could not take virtual-novel.net eyes off the phone screen. She could not slack off, not in the slightest, virtual-novel.net must wait for his call.
The people sent out to look for Stanley Batton had not come back and reported to virtual-novel.net by now. Something must have gone wrong.
Right that moment, virtual-novel.net phone ran out of battery and automatically shut down. She went to find a phone charger at once.
It was then that virtual-novel.net realized virtual-novel.net did not carry a charger with virtual-novel.net all this while. Without hesitation, virtual-novel.net called out to the people outside of virtual-novel.net ward to help search for a phone charger. She would never let virtual-novel.net phone die at this point. She could not bear missing any news about Stanley.
Her heart was racing and virtual-novel.net felt that it was pounding out of virtual-novel.net chest.
On the other side, Stanley Batton locked his phone and shoved it back into his pocket after noticing that Xyla’s phone was off.
“What’s going on?” Sebastian Brenand asked.
“Her phone shut down. Forget it, let’s go to the hospital first.” Stanley answered.
“Alright then.” Henry Armstrong said.
“Oh yeah, Sebastian, please warn the inspector not to talk any nonsense in front of Xyla. He must know what to say and what to keep quiet about.” Stanley turned to look at Sebastian.
Sebastian snapped his fingers in delight. “You don’t want our identities to be exposed, right? Yeah I get it, no worries.”
“I don’t get it, brother, why exactly do you want to hide about it?” Henry looked puzzled.
Stanley did not answer but glanced at Zack and continued, “Look for the evidence of the crimes that Fred Thomson’s father and uncle ever did. Publish them as soon as possible. You have one day to do so.”
“Yes…” Zack nodded politely.

Xyla Quest had been waiting for half an hour but there was no sign of the phone charger. Her heart was already in a mess and virtual-novel.net was getting more impetuous now. She frowned impatiently and commanded at the people outside the door, “Come here.”
She sounded cold and virtual-novel.net tone, too, was a little unpleasant. Soon, the door opened.
“Who upsets you? Hmm?”
A familiar voice flowed into the ward. Xyla’s heart fluttered and turned to face the door rapidly. There was a stunning man smiling faintly in front of her.
Henry and Sebastian were standing behind him, too. The gloomy clouds surrounding virtual-novel.net had all vanished. Her hanging heart had finally returned to peace.
Xyla jumped off virtual-novel.net bed immediately and ran towards Stanley. She threw virtual-novel.net arms around his neck emotionally and pressed their chests together. “Where have you been? I thought you faced some trouble!”
Henry and Sebastian exchanged looks of glee.
Xyla swung virtual-novel.net left arm a little too excessive, causing the wound on virtual-novel.net shoulder to be pulled apart. The pain that pricked virtual-novel.net bones like a needle finally made virtual-novel.net return to virtual-novel.net senses. It was only then virtual-novel.net realized how embarrassing virtual-novel.net was. She released Stanley instantly but the sudden rosiness on virtual-novel.net cheeks gave virtual-novel.net away.
She had butterflies in virtual-novel.net stomach as virtual-novel.net heart skipped a beat once again.
The pain from virtual-novel.net wound was still spreading across virtual-novel.net body. She lifted virtual-novel.net head awkwardly and found a pair of beaming eyes staring at her. Perhaps virtual-novel.net rarely noticed the genuity in his eyes, virtual-novel.net lost herself unintentionally for a short while.
For a moment, virtual-novel.net could not feel the pain in virtual-novel.net body anymore. It was as if his gaze was the best painkiller in the world.
“I don’t know you were so worried about me. Hmm?” Stanley lowered his chin, quirking his eyebrows and smirking slightly as virtual-novel.net stared at Xyla’s face.
His dark eyes caught virtual-novel.net heart, tightly and firmly, like an invisible net.
