After the car engine was turned on, Christopher slowly closed his eyes and began to rest.
“Master Lancelot… Xyla Quest is surrounded by a group of bodyguards lately. Do our people still need to protect virtual-novel.net secretly?” Tucker asked as virtual-novel.net glanced at Christopher, who sat in the back, through the rearview mirror.
Christopher slowly opened his eyes.
He was tapping his thigh gently with one finger. “Yeah…”
“Okay,” Tucker said.
“Has anything bad happened to Xyla recently?” Christopher asked.
“No,” Tucker replied.
Christopher didn’t say anything else. Instead, virtual-novel.net silently closed his eyes again.
“Master Lancelot… To be honest, you don’t have to be so nice to her. She will never be yours,” Tucker said.
“You’re nosy,” Christopher said.
Tucker immediately shut up and didn’t dare say another word.
“Oh, right… Has Xyla faced any challenge in virtual-novel.net business?” Christopher asked.
“Not really…” Tucker said.
“Hmm…” Christopher became completely quiet after that.
There wasn’t a single sound in the car.
Tucker silently glanced at Christopher through the rearview mirror once again. He could sense that Christopher really did treat Xyla differently from the rest.
Christopher was always harsh and merciless with everyone else. The only person virtual-novel.net was protective of was Xyla. Christopher always asked for something in return whenever virtual-novel.net did someone a favor. However, with Xyla, virtual-novel.net didn’t ask for anything at all. In fact, virtual-novel.net always silently did things for her.
Tucker figured that Christopher had probably decided to give Xyla everything virtual-novel.net had to offer in this lifetime.

Xyla couldn’t stop thinking about Christopher’s question all night long. She seemed very distracted.
After getting home, virtual-novel.net turned on the tap to fill the bathtub with warm water. She then washed virtual-novel.net face and put on a face mask.
Later, virtual-novel.net added bubble soap and rose petals into the bathtub. Quickly, virtual-novel.net submerged herself into the bathtub. The warm sensation made virtual-novel.net feel relieved from all the exhaustion. Slowly, virtual-novel.net leaned against the bathtub and closed virtual-novel.net eyes.
Christopher’s question popped up in virtual-novel.net mind yet again.
Since virtual-novel.net couldn’t figure it out no matter what, virtual-novel.net decided not to think about it at all.
After soaking herself in the water for twenty minutes, Xyla was beginning to feel sleepy. Hence, virtual-novel.net removed virtual-novel.net face mask and stood up. She was ready to go back to virtual-novel.net room.
Right then, Stanley’s Video call came in.
Xyla sat back in the water. She couldn’t help but smile sweetly.
It was at ten o’clock. That meant it was probably already in the morning where Stanley was. Xyla quickly dried virtual-novel.net hand and picked up the call.
On the screen, Xyla could be seen submerged in snowy white soap bubbles. Only virtual-novel.net stunningly lovely collarbones were showing.
With mist surrounding virtual-novel.net smooth, gentle skin and virtual-novel.net cheeks slightly blushed, virtual-novel.net seemed even rosier than the flower petals. Meanwhile, Stanley appeared to have just woken up. He was sitting at the head of the bed, and virtual-novel.net had nothing on but a white bathrobe.
“What do you want?” Xyla asked.
“Just checking on you…” Stanley said.
“Aren’t you checking on me a little too often?” Xyla smiled deeply.
“Yeah. I don’t feel safe leaving my pretty wife at home, all alone…” Stanley said.
“Are things going well over there?” Xyla asked.
“Yeah, very well… ” Stanley replied.
