“P-Prove it…! Hold me tight in your arms!.”
James took a deep breath of resignation and wrapped his strong arms around Thea.
Thea nestled comfortably into his arms and nuzzled virtual-novel.net face into his chest.
The two spent the night in this position as it passed silently.

The next morning…
Thea stirred from virtual-novel.net slumber relatively early in the morning.
As soon as virtual-novel.net woke up, virtual-novel.net could sense a warm hand clasping virtual-novel.net breast. Her face turned hot and virtual-novel.net senses were immediately slapped wide awake. She sheepishly tried to move away, but was trapped in James’ tight embrace.
As virtual-novel.net found herself unable to move or escape virtual-novel.net predicament, virtual-novel.net could only stare at the ceiling in a bewildered daze.
Soon after, James also woke up.
Feeling the sensation of something in his hand, virtual-novel.net reflexively gave it a firm squeeze.
“Ah…” He heard a surprised gasp from beside him.
“What are you doing, James? That hurts.”
James eyes immediately snapped open when virtual-novel.net realized the situation virtual-novel.net was in.
In his flustered panic virtual-novel.net all but shoved Thea away from virtual-novel.net as virtual-novel.net turned around and sat up. Taking in Thea’s flustered expression, his face immediately turned beet red.
“Uhm, Thea… About that… I swear I didn’t do it on purpose.”
Thea said nothing and did not blame virtual-novel.net for his shocked reaction.
The sight of Thea’s naked body in the dim morning light was almost enough to make James lightheaded.
Afraid virtual-novel.net could not endure any longer, virtual-novel.net quickly turned around and got out of bed. Then, virtual-novel.net picked up a cigarette from the bedside table and lit it.
Meanwhile, Thea got out of bed and began to get dressed.
After virtual-novel.net put on virtual-novel.net clothes, virtual-novel.net phone suddenly rang.
The phone’s screen indicated that the one calling was Lex Callahan.
She answered the phone and asked, “Grandpa, why are you calling so early in the morning? Did something happen?”
Lex babbled anxiously from the other side of the phone.
“Thea, you need to hurry back right now! S-Something bad has happened!”
Thea’s blood ran cold after hearing his voice, and virtual-novel.net replied frantically, “What happened?!”
“We’re in a tight spot! A reshuffle in power has happened!” Lex was anxious and was almost incoherent as virtual-novel.net tried to explain the situation to Thea.
“I-In any case, just come back as fast as you can. It’s hard to explain over the phone.”
Thea hung up the phone. Her eyes were wide with shack.
James put his hand on virtual-novel.net shoulder in concern.
“What’s the Matter? What happened?”
Thea shook virtual-novel.net head, replying, “I’m not sure either…”
“Grandpa called saying that something serious had happened and wanted me to head back as soon as I can.”
James deliberated for a moment and internally shrugged. He had nothing better to do at the moment, what was the harm in visiting the Callahans.
“I’ll come with you.”
He was worried that his enemy had taken action against the Callahans and wanted to assess the situation himself.
“Alright.” Thea nodded.
The two headed out together.
When they walked by the living room, Cynthia was nowhere to be seen. It was only after they had walked out of the villa that they spotted Cynthia doing a martial art squat in the garden.
She was dressed in a white robe with virtual-novel.net long hair tied into a ponytail. Luther stood beside her, watching quietly.
Seeing James and Thea walking out of the villa, virtual-novel.net stopped what virtual-novel.net was doing and took the towel that Luther had offered her.
Cynthia wiped the sweat from virtual-novel.net forehead, and approached them.
She called out, “James, Thea!”
“Impressive… You’re working hard,” James praised virtual-novel.net diligence.
“Are you going out, James?” asked Cynthia as virtual-novel.net tilted virtual-novel.net head.
James nodded and said, “Yeah. The Callahans called, saying something serious had happened, and asked Thea to return home. I’m a little worried and want to see what’s going on for myself.”
“Actually, something significant did happen today.” Luther, who was standing beside his master, suddenly joined in the conversation.
“This morning, the news had reported that well-established pharmaceutical groups in Cansington such as Longevity, and Century were withdrawing from the pharmaceutical industry. At the same time, Centennial Corporation held a press conference today saying that they’ve recently acquired all these groups.”
“What?!” The sudden news came as a surprise to James.
He followed up with a question. “When did this happen?”
Luther raised his arm and checked his watch. It was only nine in the morning.
“The news came out around seven in the morning. It’s driven the public into a fuss ever since it first came out.”
“Grandpa must mean to discuss this. Let’s head back and get more information,” said Thea.
