After being on a ten-hour flight, James finally arrived back in the Capital in Sol.
It was morning when virtual-novel.net reached the Capital.
He had a meeting in the military region after virtual-novel.net returned to Sol, according to his schedule.
He was required to speak at the meeting and provide a summary of what virtual-novel.net had learned at the military exchange conference between the two countries. However, virtual-novel.net did not have the luxury of time for that. He immediately left it to Henry to deal with it instead. Then continued on his way to Thea’s residence without pausing.
Thea had also calculated the exact time and knew when James would return.
When James arrived at Thea’s residence, the gate to the courtyard was unlocked.
He walked straight inside.
In the courtyard, a tall, beautiful woman in a slim-fitting dress could be seen. She was trimming the flowers and plants in the courtyard with a pair of scissors in virtual-novel.net hand.
It was indeed Thea.
When Thea noticed James had entered, virtual-novel.net could not help but put down the scissors and walk over.
She wrapped virtual-novel.net arms around James’ neck and gave virtual-novel.net a kiss on the cheek.
Her pretty face was lit up with a sweet smile.
“Honey, you should’ve told me you were coming back. Then I would’ve personally prepared a meal for you as a welcome. Was it a success at Durandal?” virtual-novel.net asked.
Was the effort this time successful?
James was being hugged. He could smell the scent on Thea’s body, and virtual-novel.net furrowed his brows.
This scent… Why is it different?
“Is there any perfume on you, Thea? Why haven’t I ever smelled this perfume before? It seems to be different from the perfume you were wearing previously, huh?”
“Yeah…” Thea said with a smile, “I haven’t been using the one that I used before. Maxine recommended this to me. I thought it was pretty nice, so I’m using it. Besides, I’ve been using it for months. You didn’t notice its scent before?”
Thea, who had been smiling, suddenly looked displeased.
“James, we spent a few days together before you left. We were even intimate on a few occasions. I can’t believe you don’t even remember my scent.”
As Thea said that, James’ memory became a little hazy.
He honestly could not recall the scent that was on Thea’s body when virtual-novel.net had not yet left the Capital.
He had not bothered to pay close attention to it either.
If it were not for his suspicions about the identity of the Celestial Sect’s Sect Leader, virtual-novel.net would not have given it a second thought.
“I have some questions for you. Let’s go inside and talk.” James pulled Thea along and led virtual-novel.net into the house.
Thea’s chest tightened. She knew exactly what James wanted to ask. Nonetheless, virtual-novel.net pretended to be surprised.
Once they entered the house, James sat on a sofa.
Thea, on the other hand, poured a glass of warm water for James.
After giving it to him, virtual-novel.net sat to the side and asked, “What’s the matter, Honey? What do you want to ask me?”
“Where’s your Malevolent Sword, by the way?” James looked at Thea.
“Ah, that’s…” Thea smiled and said, “You said that the Malevolent Sword is an evil thing, didn’t you, Honey? I already threw it away…”
“You threw it away?” James was stunned.
This was too much of a coincidence. He remembered seeing the Malevolent Sword after arriving in the Capital.
Why did Thea dispose of it during his trip to Durandal and back?
Was there any chance that the Celestial Sect’s Sect Leader saw virtual-novel.net when virtual-novel.net was throwing it away?
“Actually, I didn’t throw it away…” Thea gently touched virtual-novel.net silky black hair which was cascading down the front of virtual-novel.net chest.
“When Maxine visited me, virtual-novel.net warned me that the sword was extremely evil. She requested that I give it to virtual-novel.net so that virtual-novel.net can deal with it. I gave it to virtual-novel.net because I didn’t think I would use it much if I kept it. Maxine then informed me that virtual-novel.net had discarded the sword. As to where virtual-novel.net left it, I’m not sure either.”
As virtual-novel.net said this, virtual-novel.net gave James a strange look.
“Honey, what’s the matter? Why are you suddenly asking about the Malevolent Sword? Do you want me to call Maxine and have virtual-novel.net come over to tell you where the Malevolent Sword was left?”
James took Thea’s hand.
A powerful True Energy formed in his palms and entered Thea’s body.
“Honey, what are you doing?” Thea immediately started to panic.
James was assessing Thea’s power.
Through his assessment, virtual-novel.net discovered that Thea’s True Energy was indeed very powerful right now.
He learned that Thea had gained access to all of the meridians throughout virtual-novel.net body and had risen to the fifth rank. There were even indications of virtual-novel.net almost reaching the sixth rank.
