“What’s going on?”
“Why are there so many soldiers?”
“Who’re they here for?”
As soon as James walked out of the airport, he was slightly taken aback by the countless soldiers waiting to receive him.
He immediately walked over.
At that moment, a slightly tanned man wearing a military robe with five stars on his shoulder rushed over.
He appeared in front of James, saluted him, and gave a respectful greeting. “You’re finally back, Dragon King!”
The person that approached was Henry.
James looked at Henry in a daze. A year ago, he left to search for Thea without saying goodbye.
Seeing Henry again, James felt like he was dreaming.
After standing dazed for a few seconds, he responded, “Henry, it’s you! I was wondering for a second who you actually were. Woah, not bad! You’re wearing the Red Flame robe and have five stars! That must mean you’re the Emperor now, right?”
“Yeah…” Henry chuckled.
“Dragon King…” Another voice called out to him.
Another person in a military robe walked over. This person’s robe had the word ‘Blithe’ embroidered on it and he also had five stars on his shoulder.
It was the Blithe King.
James turned to the Blithe King and nodded.
Then, he looked at Henry and asked, “By the way, has it been peaceful in Sol for the past year?”
When James left to look for Thea, Sol was still relatively stable.
Lucjan was dead. Callan had remodeled the Gu Sect. Under his leadership, the Gu Sect would no longer stand against the country or incite trouble. As for the Orient Commerce, Mr. Lance was dead. Moreover, James had an agreement with Sky which meant he would not stir up any trouble.
As for the business side, Maxine assisted Quincy in setting up the New Era Commerce, and Xavion joined them. Things were uneventful on that front.
The reason James left was because Sol no longer needed him.
Hearing this, Henry said, “Yeah… It’s been pretty calm. After you disappeared, Callan took control of the Gu Sect again and quickly led them out of the Capital. Orient Commerce also dissolved under pressure from the New Era Commerce…”
“The election also proceeded as scheduled. This election has been the most unbiased one in a long time. There was no interference from any influential figures. Ultimately, the citizens were able to elect their own King. The new King’s name is Josiah Zahm. He used to be the Capital’s city governor…”
“After the previous King cleaned up the mess, he also got rid of a few popular candidates running in the election. From the final ballot results, Josiah had the highest votes and succeeded as the new King. The old King was also permitted to co-rule alongside Josiah and assist the current King in managing national affairs…”
“Sol’s borders have also been peaceful. This year, Sol unveiled the Z network to the public and it’s taken the country by storm. Our nation’s economy has been growing rapidly compared to other countries.” Henry briefly described some noteworthy national events to James.
“Originally, you were supposed to be the king, but you disappeared. After you suddenly vanished, the new king came to power and promoted me as the new Emperor. Meanwhile, your previous titles as the Dragon King of the Southern Plains and the commander of the Black Dragon Army have been reserved for you all this while.”
“Alright.” James felt relieved after hearing Henry’s summary of the past year.
“James, are you here for Thea?” asked Henry.
“Yeah. Thea disappeared a year ago, and I’ve been looking for her all this time. I only learned that she returned to Cansington yesterday, so I rushed back,” James nodded and replied.
Henry said, “I also specifically came here after hearing about it. I checked your whereabouts and saw that you would be getting off the plane around this time, so I came to wait for you.”
“Has Thea really returned to the Callahans’ villa in Cansington?”
“Yeah. The Red Flame’s intelligence network also acquired information regarding this. Thea did indeed appear back in Cansington yesterday morning.”
“Really?” James was overjoyed.
