“Uh…” Charlie froze, then guessed what might have happened.
He comforted Claire by patting her back and said, “Wife, the saying goes that if you want to wear a crown, you must bear its weight…”
“If Miss Joules was just a girl from an ordinary family, she wouldn’t have to go through so many dangers and trials. But she is now the head of a trillion-dollar family, and for someone in that position, it’s only right that she should face some challenges. Otherwise, she wouldn’t know how to appreciate them.”
“I didn’t know she had gone through so many ups and downs, and she even made a false identity to experience life in Aurous Hill before disappearing without saying goodbye…” Claire sighed and blamed herself.
Charlie laughed, “Now that you know the truth, you don’t have to dwell on it so much. For her, the outcome is the best it could be. You two can finally talk about these misunderstandings and be friends again. Isn’t that pretty perfect?”
“Yes…” Claire nodded, feeling that Charlie had a point.
She then looked at him with admiration and said, “But you’re really great too, husband! Just by adjusting the feng shui, you were able to make Micheala go from being chased by her eldest uncle to becoming the head of the Joules family in one fell swoop. That’s amazing!”
Charlie laughed modestly, “In fact, this is mainly because she had the right foundation…”
“You know, to be born into a rich and noble family like hers, her destiny is one that is hard to come by. Plus, she had the support of her grandfather. Everything was basically ready, and my feng shui was just a nudge.”
“That’s already very powerful!” Claire said seriously, “I used to think that you, going to people’s houses to see feng shui could bring trouble to you, but today it seems that your ability is very big! No wonder people call you Master Wade, because you are a real master!”
Charlie touched his nose and laughed, “Wife, I’ll be proud if you praise me so much.”
Claire smiled, “Master Wade must be proud of himself!”
A few hours later, a Gulfstream plane landed at the airport in Georgetown, Malaysia, also known as Penang.
The hangar echoed with the sound of rain beating on the roof as Larry and his 85-year-old wife waited for the plane to arrive.
When Maria stepped off the plane, Larry excitedly held his wife’s hand and said, “You’ve worked hard, Miss!”
His wife also said respectfully, “Miss! Welcome…”
Maria nodded and smiled slightly. “You don’t have to pick me up. You could have sent a driver.”
Larry said, “Miss, since you’re here in Malaysia, it’s only fitting that I come to greet you!”
Maria smiled and replied, “This isn’t the place for a conversation. Let’s go first.”
“Sure thing,” Larry replied respectfully. “I’ve already taken care of the customs. Just give me your passport and I’ll have someone handle the formalities. Don’t worry about a thing.”
Maria nodded and handed over her passport to Larry.
He then invited her into his limousine and had one of his servants take care of the entry formalities while they drove to his estate in Georgetown.
As they drove, Maria glanced out at the rainy landscape and sighed. “It rains a lot in Penang… I hate it…”
Larry chuckled awkwardly and said, “Penang does get a lot of rain during the summer. In the past month, it rained twice, one for 14 days and one for 15 days, with just one day of respite in between.”
After a moment of hesitation, Larry asked Maria, “Why are you going to Aurous Hill to stay temporarily this time?”
Maria smiled lightly and replied, “I ran into some trouble in Northern Europe, so I’m going to China to get away from it and also to look for someone.”
Larry asked curiously, “What kind of person is this that you’re going to look for personally?”
Maria smiled sweetly and replied, “A valuable person, perhaps the only one who can change the trajectory of my life…”
