The sales director and his team were stunned. They were no strangers to intense competition among customers, especially during the sales launch of the villas. However, the situation usually escalated into frustration and sometimes even violence.
But the events that were unfolding before them were unprecedented. They were shocked when Tanaka immediately offered an additional million dollars just from hearing the other party speak. And to top it off, Angela’s straightforward refusal was completely unexpected.
From their perspective, an extra million dollars for not doing anything was an easy choice. To them, the idea of earning a million for simply viewing a property and making a booking deposit was nothing short of a dream come true.
However, for Angela, even if the amount was doubled, it would still not make a difference in her decision. She was not in need of money and therefore, a million dollars was not enough to sway her. Angela’s financial stability meant that she would not change her stance simply for financial gain.
Tanaka, being the most trusted member of the Ito household, had the power to offer such a large sum on behalf of his employer.
However, upon seeing Angela’s unwavering stance, Tanaka impulsively spoke up again, “Miss, I don’t mean to flaunt my wealth, I just really want to purchase this house. If you agree to sell it to me, I am willing to offer an additional 5 million.”
This statement left the sales team present even more stunned. They had encountered wealthy individuals before, but never someone with such deep pockets. They had also come across real estate investors, but never one who was willing to pay such a large premium.
People invested in real estate with the intention of making a profit, no matter what they had to do, purchased a property and held onto it for a few months or even a few years.
However, the situation in front of them was nothing short of a dream come true. The opportunity to earn 5 million in just a matter of minutes was simply too good to be true.
Despite their belief that Angela had no reason to decline this offer, she responded with a hint of annoyance, “Sir, there’s no need to continue this conversation. You would be better off exploring other properties.”
She then turned to the sales director and instructed, “Please show us the apartment.”
Tanaka blurted out, “Ten million! Miss, I am willing to pay ten million for the transfer!”
The sales team was dumbfounded. It was clear that when gods clashed, mortals used physical violence, while gods used a certain amount of money, such as five million or ten million, as their weapons.
Despite Tanaka’s increased offer, Angela remained unshaken.
She turned to him and spoke with a serious tone, “Sir, I have been patient with you because I believe you are sincere and a gentleman. However, if you continue to pressure me in this manner, I may not be able to continue this friendly conversation.”
At this moment, Tanaka realized the truth. The young woman in front of him must be wealthy and uninterested in material wealth. Her net worth and assets were likely comparable, if not greater, than his own Lady’s.
In light of this, offering a premium of 10 million, or even 30 million or 50 million, would not be taken seriously and would only make him appear foolish.
With a heavy sigh, he apologized, “I apologize, miss. I acted recklessly and I hope you can forgive me.”
