Hannah’s blood boiled as she watched Elaine. Her anger reached a boiling point, and she couldn’t hold back her rage any longer.
“You’ve got some nerve, Elaine,” Hannah shouted, her voice shaking with fury. “If you don’t come down from there right now, I’ll come up and throw you off the balcony myself. And if I don’t kill you, then may I never take another breath!”
Elaine’s face twisted into a look of disdain.
“Oh, Hannah, you’re all bark and no bite,” she said, her voice dripping with contempt. “You’re nothing but a heartless opportunist who’s willing to do anything for a quick buck. But let me remind you, trespassing on private property is a criminal offense. If you’re feeling brave enough to come up here, go ahead and try it. Just be prepared for the consequences, because I won’t hesitate to call the police on you.”
As Elaine taunted her with talk of the law and police, Hannah felt her confidence waver.
She knew that while she might be smarter than Elaine, she was also in a tough spot. There was no way she could do anything out of the ordinary, except perhaps to vent her anger with scolding.
Moreover, she was well aware that trespassing on private property was a serious offense. She couldn’t risk offending Albert, who was known far and wide for his power and influence.
In fact, many wealthy and influential individuals referred to him as “Master Wade”. If she were to charge in and ruffle Bjorne’s feathers, the consequences would be dire. There was no good outcome to such a reckless move.
Despite her better judgment, Hannah was consumed by her anger. She felt like a pressure cooker, her emotions reaching boiling point, with no outlet for her frustration. She removed her shoes and began pounding on the door with all her might, her voice rising to a fever pitch.
“Elaine! If you think you can cut off my money, you’ve got another thing coming. I swear, I’ll make you pay for this. Even if I have to haunt you as a ghost, I won’t let you off the hook. Come down here and face me, you coward!”
The entire community was thrown into chaos as Hannah’s outburst echoed through the area. It was a high-end neighborhood, after all, and public displays of emotion were not the norm. Still, the commotion drew the attention of many curious onlookers.
Even Angela, who lived on one of the highest floors and was enjoying the stunning view of the river, was drawn to the disturbance.
She frowned as she heard the sound of someone yelling and cursing in the villa area, and quickly made her way to the south-facing window to investigate. There, she caught a glimpse of a wild-eyed woman outside a door, hurling insults and pounding her fists. Disturbed by the commotion, she shut all the windows on the south side of her apartment.
Hannah was at her wit’s end, pacing back and forth in front of Bjorne’s impenetrable gates. She was practically frothing at the mouth, shouting and cursing with all her might.
Meanwhile, Elaine lay back on the balcony railing, soaking up the sun and basking in the glow of her own survival. Even though Hannah’s frenzied screams filled her ears, Elaine couldn’t help but laugh at the sight of her desperate enemy.
As she watched Hannah’s frantic movements, Elaine felt a sense of glee wash over her. She paused her video recording and fished a handful of melon seeds out of her pocket, tossing them idly over the balcony while nibbling on the delicious treat.
Turning her gaze to Hannah, she shook her head with a playful smile. “Hannah, I have to admit, I love watching you squirm. It’s like you’re a vicious dog, barking and snarling, but with no teeth to bite. It’s almost too easy!”
Hannah was so angry that she felt like she might explode. She stomped her feet and let loose a string of furious curses.
“Elaine! I swear I’m going to rip your mouth off your face!”
Elaine responded with a sneer. “Oh, Hannah, what’s with the foul language? I thought you were supposed to be a lady. Is this how you talk to your family members during your live broadcasts?”
Elaine’s mocking tone didn’t faze Hannah, who was desperate to regain the upper hand. In a sudden move, she started to mimic Elaine’s voice from the live broadcasts, her eyes brimming with tears.
“Help me, help me!” she cried. “My family is in shambles! My husband and son are both paralyzed, and my mother-in-law is slowly starving to death!”
Hannah paused for a moment, her voice thick with emotion. “I’m pregnant with my supervisor’s child, and I’m about to give birth. But there’s no money to buy milk powder, no money for anything!”
Her voice rising in pitch, Elaine continued, “And to top it all off, I have a terrible STD. I itch and scratch all over, all day long, but I can’t afford to see a doctor. Can you believe it?”
