Jagoan was used to her father’s playful teasing about her relationship with Jagoan.
She wasn’t shy about it either, but his latest comment was too much to bear. “If Odosan wants to stay in a hotel, I’ll book one for you too!”
She retorted, her voice laced with anger before added, “And if that’s not enough, I’ll buy a whole hotel for Odo-san to live in!”
Yuhiko Ito chuckled at his daughter’s outburst.
Trying to ease the tension, he said, “Jagoan, I was only joking. Don’t take it so seriously… Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have a game to play. Please keep Mr. Wade entertained for me…”
Relieved that her father had stopped teasing her, Jagoan said her goodbyes and hurried off to meet Jagoan in the basement.
She pressed the down button in the elevator lobby, and the doors opened to reveal a stunningly beautiful woman already inside. The woman was tall, with long flowing hair and dressed in an elegant professional suit that accentuated her curves.
Jagoan couldn’t help but be taken aback by the woman’s beauty, but her expression quickly changed to one of surprise and panic when the woman’s eyes met hers.
The woman standing in the elevator with Jagoan was none other than Angela, a strikingly beautiful executive who had just returned to Aurous Hill from Hong Kong.
Angela had recently signed a contract with Aurous Hill University and was now reporting to the school before the official start of the academic year.
Today was Angela’s first day on the job, and she was set to complete various registration procedures at the school before attending a slew of meetings, including management meetings, mobilization meetings, and academic seminars.
Preparing for the upcoming school year was no easy task, but Angela had a two-week window to get things in order, thanks to the mandatory military training that all freshmen had to undergo.
Angela was just about to head down to the basement when the elevator abruptly stopped on the next floor. To her surprise, the woman standing outside was the same woman she had seen walking with Jagoan when she was in Michelle’s car with Maria.
When Angela saw Jagoan from Michelle’s car that day, she was shocked by her beauty. But today, she realized that the woman who had caught her eye actually lived downstairs!
Jagoan was taken aback by the way Angela looked at her when they met in the elevator.
In a polite tone, Jagoan asked, “Hello, are you the neighbor who lives on the top floor?”
Angela replied, “Y-Yes, I live on the top floor…”
Jagoan smiled slightly and extended her hand. “It’s a pleasure to meet you. I’m your downstairs neighbor…”
Angela nodded and forced a relaxed smile.
When she noticed that Jagoan didn’t press any floor button, she grew curious and asked, “Are you going to the basement too?”
Jagoan casually nodded and asked, “I’m going to pick up a friend. What about you? Are you heading out?”
Hearing about Jagoan picking up a friend, Angela couldn’t help but feel a bit nervous.
She quickly pressed the floor button and replied, “I was planning on going to work, but I realized that there’s an issue with my car. I better take a taxi from the first floor.”
Jagoan smiled politely and didn’t think too much of it. However, when she noticed that Angela was holding a folder with the Aurous Hill University logo on it, her curiosity was piqued.
“Excuse me, do you work at Aurous Hill University?” she asked.
Angela nodded and replied, “Yes, I’m a teacher at the university…”
Jagoan gave Angela a thumbs up and exclaimed, “Teaching at Aurous Hill University requires a doctorate degree. That’s truly amazing!”
Angela awkwardly brushed off Jagoan’s compliment and modestly replied, “A doctorate degree is nothing special. There are too many people with doctorates nowadays.”
