Master Vail sighed heavily. “Don’t even bring it up… It’s all because I wanted to stand up for what I believed in… or maybe it’s because I still held onto my beliefs and angered Master Wade.”
“He sealed my meridians just like he did to you last time… But it’s different for me. Master Wade helped you break through from a five-star martial artist to the Light Realm, only to seal you back as a five-star martial artist. But for me, he sealed me from a Great Perfection of the Light Realm to a mere four-star martial artist…”
“Pfft!” Serena suddenly burst out laughing at Master Vail’s misfortune.
Master Vail’s face turned red with fury at Serena’s laughter. “What’s so funny? Is it that amusing?”
Realizing her mistake, Serena quickly stifled her laughter and lowered her head. “I’m sorry, Master… I just couldn’t help myself.”
She composed herself and spoke solemnly. “But compared to you, I’m the lucky one… Although Mr. Wade also sealed my meridians, at least it didn’t set back my cultivation.”
Master Vail rubbed his temples in frustration and waved his hand dismissively.
“Never mind, forget it. When you see Master Wade, tell him the truth about what happened,” he instructed.
“Starting tomorrow, the training will officially begin, and I’ll show my loyalty through my actions,” he added.
Serena nodded, but then asked, “What about the other disciples of Mystic Harmony Sect? They’re still waiting for you, Master.”
Master Vail let out a sigh. “As a teacher, I don’t know what to do. It’s best if we wait for Master Wade to decide during the meeting.”
“Understood, Master,” Serena replied without hesitation.
Master Vail gave her a stern look before continuing. “Serena, we made an agreement. If Mr. Wade is willing to accept Mystic Harmony Sect, then you must accept the position as the head of the sect.”
“I’ll pass the position on to you in front of all the disciples, but you must never mention the matter of the medicine cauldron again. Do you agree?” As he asked, his eyes fixed on Serena.
Serena didn’t hesitate for a moment before agreeing. “No problem, Master. If it means Mr. Wade can take over the Mystic Harmony Sect, I’ll take the blame for you.”
Master Vail breathed a sigh of relief. “Okay, it’s settled then…”
Under Master Vail’s guidance, Serena drove up the winding road to the villa in the middle of the mountain.
The entire mid-level villas had been repurchased, and Jagoan was the only one living in the huge complex of villas.
As they approached Jagoan’s villa, they noticed that the courtyard gate was already open. They parked the car and walked inside. The front door of the villa was also wide open.
Master Vail hesitated before approaching the door and knocking politely. “Master Wade, are you there? Your loyal subordinate, Master Vail, and his villain disciple Serena, are here to see you…”
Upon hearing Master Vail refer to her as a villain, Serena wrinkled her nose in annoyance.
Master Vail pretended not to notice and turned his face away, but he wasn’t really angry. After all, they had known each other for many years.
As Master Vail and Serena approached Jagoan’s living room, they saw him cleaning up the oral liquid-filling equipment. His semi-automatic production line paled in comparison to Oracle Pharmaceutical’s fully automated line, and it left a lot of leftovers after packaging.
When Jagoan heard Master Vail requesting to see him, he casually responded with an invitation to come inside.
Master Vail and Serena entered the living room and found Jagoan tinkering with something in front of the filling equipment. They exchanged a look, and it was Master Vail who spoke up first.
“Master Wade, Serena is here…” he announced.
Jagoan raised his head and greeted the nervous Serena with a smile.
“Miss Gray, we meet again,” he greeted her.
Serena couldn’t help but stammer in response. “H-hello, Mr. Wade! I-it’s me, Serena, your junior… We’ve met before…”
Her heart was pounding with nervousness even before she entered the room. She knew she had acted recklessly in front of Jagoan the last time they met, and now that she was seeing him again, she felt ashamed. On top of that, she was also worried about whether she would be able to achieve her goals this time in Aurous Hill.
Jagoan overheard her calling herself a junior and calmly interjected, “Miss Gray, you need not call yourself a junior. You should be older than me.”
Serena quickly responded, “Mr. Wade, Master, he even refers to himself as a subordinate in your presence. I am his direct disciple, so it’s only natural for me to call myself a junior in front of you.”
Jagoan smirked and teased, “Miss Gray, you seem to be more polite than the last time we met…”
Serena felt awkward and apologized, “Last time, I was reckless as a junior. Please don’t hold it against me, Mr. Wade…”
Jagoan nodded and casually asked, “I heard that you brought all your people to Aurous Hill?”
“Yes,” Serena replied respectfully, “Mr. Wade, there are 217 people from Mystic Harmony Sect, and they all arrived in Aurous Hill today.”
Serena then got straight to the point, “Mr. Wade, I came to Aurous Hill to implore you to take in the Mystic Harmony Sect for the sake of our old master.”
Jagoan was curious and asked, “But why for the sake of your master? Didn’t he pass on his headship to you?”
Without hesitation, Serena spoke up, “Mr. Wade, after much consideration, I have come to the conclusion that I cannot take over the headship of the Mystic Harmony Sect. Therefore, I have given up my claim.”
Jagoan’s eyebrows raised in surprise, and he looked from Serena to Master Vail, who appeared dejected.
He asked curiously, “You can give up? Haven’t you completed the process of passing the throne?”
Serena replied with a serious tone, “Mr. Wade, the passing of the throne was incomplete due to the missing tokens of the sect leader. Therefore, it was impossible to proceed with the process.”
Jagoan nodded in understanding and smiled, “I see. So, even though Master Vail passed on the position to you last time, you regretted it after returning.”
Serena confirmed, “Yes.”
Curious, Jagoan asked, “How did you approach the sect after you returned?”
Serena replied, “After returning, I showed the sect leader’s token that Master Vail had given me to the core members of the Mystic Harmony Sect. I explained that the master had a destiny and urged them to move to Aurous Hill as soon as possible. They saw the token and had no doubts about my statement.”
Jagoan couldn’t help but admire Serena’s clever tactics as he looked at Master Vail with a serious expression. “Master Vail, since Miss Gray has given up her claim to the headship, according to basic inheritance logic, you remain the head of Mystic Harmony Sect.”
Master Vail let out a helpless sigh and replied, “Master Wade, I thought that passing the position to Serena would allow me to serve you with peace of mind. I did not expect this unfortunate turn of events. It is truly a shame for our teacher.”
He continued to express his frustration, “The main reason for this is that when I passed on the position last time, I trusted Serena too much. Now that she has suddenly changed her mind, I am caught off guard.”
Jagoan smiled slightly, turned to Serena, and asked her, “Since you are unwilling to take on the position of the head, why suggest moving the entire Mystic Harmony Sect to Aurous Hill?”
Serena spoke sincerely, “Mr. Wade, as a person with great supernatural powers, I know that you can help the Mystic Harmony Sect reach new heights. The sect has not made much progress in the past few hundred years, and I believe that with your guidance, we can achieve great things.”
She continued with conviction, “If you take the Mystic Harmony Sect under your command, everyone will remember your kindness, and they will undoubtedly look up to you in the future.”
