Hannah’s brain was churning with thoughts. She picked up the check and left with Ludwig.
Ludwig had said that he was planning to drink at Almonube Palace, but Hannah didn’t know whether it was his excuse to do other things or not.
Not long after walking out of the restaurant, a Mercedes-Benz drove over from the other side of the road. It entered the parking spot without slowing down and looked out of control.
Ludwig was thinking about other things in his mind, and before he knew it, he saw the car was near him. Hannah saw the speeding car, but her mind went blank.
When the car approached, Ludwig felt the hairs all over his body stand on his head, and goosebumps appeared on his skin. Moses suddenly came to his senses, grabbed Hannah, and dodged aside using Cloud Walk.
The car passed by the two of them, and the airflow brought by the car even blew up the corners of their clothes.
“Are you all right?” Ludwig asked with a dark face while holding Hannah’s slender waist.
“I… Yeah, I am… We were almost hit by a car… Thank god, you reacted quickly, otherwise…” Hannah felt a lingering feeling of fear, her face was pale, and the inappropriate thoughts in her mind disappeared instantly.
This car came at the wrong time, and it was too dangerous!
It didn’t even slow down at all after seeing them and just rushed over! This was not the main road, it was the parking spot of the hotel!
The car stopped after passing by the two of them. A young man in a suit and leather shoes pushed open the car door and stepped out of the car.
Moses glanced at Hannah and Ludwig contemptuously and said, “Be careful next time.”
Ludwig was furious as he heard this. Moses and Hannah were almost hit by this car. But the man didn’t even apologize after getting out of the car and even blaming them for it!
In the back seat of the vehicle, two pretty women were sitting casually. They looked familiar, it seemed like they were actresses. who had acted in some movie or TV series.
“Are people from Neva Province so reckless? Why didn’t they run as they saw our car?” One of the women asked in an icy tone.
“She’s right. These two killed our mood!” The other woman agreed.
Hannah was stunned for a moment, then anger appeared on her face, and she retorted, “You are the ones that almost killed us by your bad driving! Now you are blaming us for it?”
Harry glanced at Hannah and Ludwig coldly, then he took out his check from his pocket, wrote twenty thousand dollars on it, and said, “That’s enough. I don’t want to waste any time here. I’m in a good mood today. So whatever game you two are playing just to get some money from me, you can stop now. This is twenty thousand dollars. Go get yourself something you need and don’t bother me. I have other things to do with these two beauties in the back seat.”
After saying this, Harry threw the check at Ludwig and Hannah.
When the check landed on the ground, Harry smiled, turned to the two women, and said, “Let’s get in and grab a bit. This is a specialty restaurant in Mimar City, and after this, we can have a drink or two.”
While speaking, he breathed out a smell of alcohol.
“What the hell do you mean? You drove so fast and almost hit us, and now you are leaving without an apology? Who cares about your money? Also, I can smell your breath even from where I’m standing. You were drunk driving. Why are you blaming us for?”
Hannah was also very annoyed. Her good mood was ruined by the drunk man. Thus, she put her hands on her hips and cursed angrily.
The two women sneered contemptuously, “Why aren’t you still leaving? Twenty thousand isn’t enough. Do you want more money? If you are smart, take the money and leave.”
Harry frowned and said, “Twenty thousand is a lot of money for people like you. I would take the money if I were you.”
“Get your check and stand here. Don’t move, so I can hit you with my car too,” Ludwig bent down and picked up the check with a smile, and said to Harry.
Harry was taken aback for a moment, then his eyes turned cold. “What did you just say, you little sh*t?”
Ludwig answered, “Are you deaf or something?”
“Who does he think he is? How can he speak to you like that, Mr. Young?”
“I didn’t know some people dared to talk to you in that tone in Neva Province?”
The two women in the back seat said in astonishment.
Harry was enraged when he was scolded by Ludwig in front of the two women.
“Open your eyes and take a good look at my license plate!” Harry said coldly.
Ludwig took a glance at the license plate and saw a series of zeroes followed by a one. Most of the people who can afford this kind of license plate have connections, strong ones.
Hannah thought for a second and realized this license plate belonged to someone from the office in this province.
Ludwig said with a cold expression on his face, “It seems like you are not a common man!”
“Is he serious? Can’t you understand what Mr. Young’s license plate means?” One of the women couldn’t help but purse her lips and chuckled.
“It’s probably some loser from the suburbs. Don’t waste your time on people like him, Mr. Young. Let’s get inside and grab a bit,” the other woman shook her head and said with sarcasm.
Hannah pulled Ludwig’s sleeves and said in a low voice, “This license plate belongs to someone in the office. Let’s let it slide. We didn’t want any trouble. Besides, no one got hurt, right.”
Ludwig shook his head and said, “I know we didn’t get hurt. But it’s not about that. This man did something wrong, and he has to apologize. It also frightened you too. I don’t like it!”
Harry sneered and said, “Your girlfriend is right. You don’t want to mess with me. Your girlfriend is much smarter than you! What an idiot! Now, kneel down while holding my check and say you are grateful. Then I can pretend you didn’t say those words!”
It took Ludwig a few seconds to comprehend Harry’s words.
What the hell did this as hole just say? The thugs that are locked up in the jail won’t even dare to talk to me like that?
Ludwig thought while glanced at the other party.
“You got lucky! Even if I had run you over with my car, you couldn’t have done anything about it. Not many people get to hit by my car,” Harry spoke calmly as if he was explaining an eternal truth.
Ludwig was in a daze.
Hannah was fuming! She couldn’t believe what the man had just said. However, from the license plate, she knew the man had strong connections. She didn’t want to get in trouble. Thus, she pulled Ludwig’s sleeve and tried to calm him down.
“Mr. Young is right. It’s a good thing you dodged quickly! Otherwise, if something had happened to this car, you wouldn’t be able to pay for it in a million years anyways.”
“Yeah. We wouldn’t let you off the hook this easily if something really had happened to the car!”
The two actresses‘ faces were full of arrogance. They even felt that it didn’t matter if they were hit to death, but if the car was damaged, it would be a heinous crime.
“They were right. My car is not something you can afford. I’m willing to give you this money because I’m in a good mood today. I’ll let it slide today. Why don’t you kneel to me and thank you for my generosity?”
Ludwig shook off Hannah’s hand and walked up to Harry.
