Roland left Poly Pharmaceutical a little chagrined at having missed a great opportunity. However, he was not regretful. After all, the business was already done, and there were plenty of opportunities to make money in the future.
Barne and the others were also happy. It was like having a pillow put under their heads when they were sleepy. It was cool.
“Now the toughest thing is solved, and Roland came to me voluntarily,” Barne said with relief to Nathalia.
“Now, you know why I’m called a Gambling Monster, don’t you?”
“Everything is just as I expected!”
The corners of Nathalia’s mouth twitched.
She said, “Are you stupid? Why are you still smug?”
Dora laughed, knowing full well Barne’s narcissism.
Nathalia said, “What about the next step? What if Mr. MacMillan doesn’t approve our drugs?”
Barne said, “He’s nothing. I have a plan!”
Nathalia didn’t bother to ask him, lest he continue to be self-absorbed.
Barne knew exactly what the next step was. After all, he had the best ace, Carter Medicinal Powder!
“Also a member of the Sanchez family, this Roland is much smarter than those guys who trained their brains out in martial arts. He knows exactly what’s important…” Barne said.
“Roland is good as he is discerning and knows how to seize opportunities.” Nathalia nodded and agreed.
What Barne didn’t know was that Roland called immediately after he walked out of Poly Pharmaceutical.
“Ms. Natalie, thank you very much. If you hadn’t given me the information, I wouldn’t have known that Poly Pharmaceutical had the formula for the three wonder drugs!” Roland’s tone was sincere and very grateful.
“Mr. Sanchez, don’t mention it. Your partnership with Poly Pharmaceutical is a win-win…” A female voice came from the other end of the line.
If Barne had been there, he would have heard it was Natalie’s voice.
Roland smiled and said, “Of course, it’s a win-win. Sanchez Pharm is at a low point lately. With these three wonder drugs, we’ll be able to surpass our previous peak soon!”
Natalie said, “Then I hope Mr. Sanchez will do a good job of this and keep working closely with Poly Pharmaceutical.”
Roland laughed and said, “Thanks, Ms. Natalie. I’ll treat you to dinner later.”
Natalie said, “Okay.”
Barne would have been shocked to learn that Natalie knew about his wonder drugs. The information was not disclosed to the public except for a few people close to him.
It was only today when Nathalia talked to Barnes Pharmaceutical about a partnership that the matter was completely revealed.
“I’m going to 81st Division this afternoon to schedule a training. Are you going? I have something to discuss with you,” Barne called Maurina and asked bluntly.
“Sure!” Maurina agreed straightforwardly.
Besides, she had been practicing the martial arts, Explosive Golden Pill, which Barne had taught her recently and wanted to show him.
By mid-afternoon, Barne changed into his uniform and arrived at the Sist Division compound to arrange training for Sharp Knife Company. Not long after, Maurina showed up.
Barne asked her directly to come to talk to him in his office. He was looking for Maurina today for wonder drugs, of course.
He could do nothing about Mr. MacMillan not approving his drugs. But he could ask Maurina to go through Emperia City’s procedures. With Emperia City’s approval, Mr. MacMillan wouldn’t dare to do anything else!
Maurina frowned and said, “I don’t want to help with this kind of trouble.”
Barne said, “I have a drug in here, Carter Medicinal Powder. Are you sure you don’t want this drug to be approved?”
Maurina said in surprise, “Carter Medicinal Powder, the secret recipe of the Carter Group in Manskarta. I can’t believe they’re willing to sell you the formula!”
Barne said, “Actually, the Carter Group in Manskarta doesn’t use it anymore. They even want to sell the recipe on a large scale. But, because of the relationship, they decided to sell it to me first. I guess in a couple of years, everyone will know the formula for Carter Medicinal Powder.”
Maurina froze, then tapped on her chin and said, “If it’s Carter Medicinal Powder, then I will help you. However, War Department must have first right of purchase as well as a big discount on this drug.”
Barne said, “I am thinking the same thing. This drug must be promoted to the War Department first, because the War Department needs this drug the most.”
So many of Hechland’s warriors got injured simply by training every day.
Carter Medicinal Powder was very effective in treating bruises and injuries. Barne’s first thought was to put Carter Medicinal Powder in the War Department.
“Help me get the drug approved through connections. After production, I will give priority to War Department at a low price. In this way, you can use this medicine to build up your reputation. Everyone knows that Carter Medicinal Powder is at a low price that you got with your ability…”
“I am also able to open up a bigger market and make more money through Carter Medicinal Powder. We both benefit from this partnership.”
Barne spoke directly to Maurina about the benefits. She was too smart to be deceived, so he might as well be sincere and share the benefits with her.
Maurina fell into meditation.
A few moments later, she said, “No problem. I can help you to pass the review through connections. But you have to remember the terms you gave.”
Mr. MacMillan had said with confidence that he would block the approval of Barne’s three wonder drugs. But Barne chose Emperia City’s convenient channels through Maurina. When it was done, Mr. MacMillan would be humiliated again.
Barne was relieved when Maurina agreed.
Giving this woman a gift was not going to work, and maybe she would even be pissed off. He had practiced this speech many times in his mind, trying to get the highest level of discourse to convince her.
“Nothing can go wrong with these drugs of yours.” Maurina gave a final warning, her eyes stern.
She was well aware of the power of capital. If Barne resorted to dirty tricks to make a bigger profit.
Barne laughed and said, “If I were such a person, I wouldn’t be in the same camp as you. So, your worries are superfluous.”
After discussing with Maurina, Barne stepped aside to call Fredo Young.
“Mr. Young, the arrangements on my side are all set,” Barne said calmly.
“Okay, I got it…” Fredo replied.
“Keep a low profile during this period recently. I’ll help you kick Mr. MacMillan off, and then you can settle accounts with those officials who disagree with you.” Barne laughed.
“I understand the principle of making an example for others. Mr. Evans, thank you,” Fredo said.
Mr. MacMillan was the one who disagreed with David the most in Neva Province. Otherwise, Poly Pharmaceutical would not have been in a disadvantageous position.
In Fredo’s opinion, the high-level struggle was about reaching its conclusion.
