The decorations on both sides of the street were magnificent. There were many customers at the upscale store. These storefronts were so upscale that poor people would retreat from them at a glance.
Caitlyn would have turned away after taking a glance.
Having Dora with her today gave her a lot of confidence. However, it was only a matter of daring to look twice.
There was a saying that no one dared spend lavishly when they were penniless. Caitlyn dared not shop here even though it was not far away from the bustling business district.
In her opinion, shopping meant going to the street stall to pick up some cheap clothes. Or going to the market with May to buy groceries. That was Caitlyn’s definition of shopping.
“Look around and choose whatever you like. I’ll pay for all your purchases today.” Dora glanced at Caitlyn and said half-jokingly.
“Haha, I won’t hold back then!” Caitlyn paused, laughed, and walked merrily forward.
There were stalls on both sides of the street, selling little whatnot. However, even if it were roadside stalls, its items were much more exquisite, and its price was much more expensive than those other street stall items outside.
“Slow down…” Dora called out to Caitlyn from behind.
Caitlyn moved through the crowd ahead like a child.
“Got it!” Caitlyn replied before walking on.
“Commander…” Diana, who was in the back, took a few quick steps and walked to Dora’s side.
“What’s the matter?” Dora replied, never taking his eyes off Caitlyn.
“She’s a good girl…” Diana said with a quiet sigh, still looking ahead.
“You found out?” Dora smiled at the words.
“Yeah… She didn’t have to make it so tiring, hard, and… Poor…” Diana nodded gently with emotion and admiration in his tone.
Dora understood what Diana meant and nodded.
Not many girls of Caitlyn’s age would make life too hard for themselves. It did not matter if they did not come from a wealthy family. It would be easy for girls to get money and have a good life if they wanted it. Besides that, with Caitlyn’s looks, she could easily have had a privileged life.
When it came to looks, Caitlyn was one in a million. Her delicate features were beautiful yet adorable.
She was a little short, but it made her look more delicate and cuter. With her beauty, she would have no problem finding a rich boyfriend.
For example, Wes Jordan, who Dora had met earlier, had madly pursued Caitlyn before.
Caitlyn could get designer clothes, bags, and all kinds of luxury goods as long as she a nod.
However, Caitlyn did not give in. She stuck to herself and willingly stayed in the orphanage. She took care of dozens of children like a nanny. Besides that, she was a nanny who did not get any pay. Even if Caitlyn did not want a rich boyfriend, she had no problems leaving the orphanage to find a job and support herself. She did not go anywhere and stayed at the orphanage for the children and May.
“The little girl is silly… She’s too kind.” Dora nodded gently with the same admiration in his tone.
“I just don’t understand why she would do this…” Diana asked with a cough after glancing at Bokir.
“The orphanage raised her, and she’s giving thanks in her way,” Dora paused and replied what was on his mind.
“Commander, I think she was… Waiting for you…” Diana coughed again before saying quietly.
“Waiting for me?” Dora froze at this.
“Yes, she was waiting for you. She rejected any rich suitors for you. She didn’t leave the orphanage to live alone because she’s afraid you will come back one day and can’t find her…” Diana nodded gently and said earnestly.
As the saying went, onlookers knew better than those involved. Dora was involved, so maybe he did not see it that well. However, Diana noticed. Diana also noticed Caitlyn’s feelings for Bokir.
“Well… Yeah, l’m her brother. We grew up…” Dora was silent for a few seconds before trying to explain.
“Commander… She feels more for you than what you call brother and sister…” Diana took over the conversation and said again.
Dora instantly fell silent. He had thought of Caitlyn as a sister all this time. Even though he had other ideas sometimes, he did not overthink.
Whether he was deliberately avoiding it or did not have such ideas, what Diana had just said seemed to have exposed something. And, he did not want to expose it.
“Stop it… Willow’s all I want for the rest of my life. I only think of Caitlyn as a sister,” Dora frowned slightly and said to Diana
“Yes…” Seeing Dora frown, Diana lowered his head and said yes.
He dared not say anything upsetting after Dora got angry.
“Brother Rowan, hurry! Hurry over!” Just then, Caitlyn waved her hands to Bokir.
“Coming…” Dora paused for a moment before walking toward Caitlyn.
However, what Caitlyn did not notice was that Dora’s gaze looked a little complicated.
Some things could be regarded as nothing if no one brought them up. However, a lot of things changed once it was brought up. He suddenly wondered if he had done something wrong.
He saw Caitlyn as a sister. However, what if Caitlyn got the wrong idea about the way they got along?
If Dora left Joules Town and left Caitlyn here alone, would it not make her feel worse?
Nothing hurt more than giving hope and then disappointment.
With that in mind, Dora decided to talk it out with Caitlyn.
