Caitlyn had already been frightened, but she felt a little reassured with Morten holding her hand.
Jacob laughed and said haughtily, “Better than me? Haha! Josef, who gave you the confidence to say something so presumptuous? Do you think the Lennon Group you’ve started can take on the Collins family? Or do you think you can defy established families of Joules Town like us with your strength and wealth?”
All the guests nodded in agreement and gave Morten and Caitlyn a dismissive look.
Jacob might be haughty, but he was clever, and he knew more about the art of speaking. In a few words, he drew a line between himself and Morten. Morten and Lennon Group were on one side, while the Collins family and the rest of Joules Town’s affluent families were on the other.
At this moment, Morten vaguely became the enemy of all affluent families in Joules Town!
Morten realized that too. Alder was not afraid, but he did find Jacob in front of him problematic. This man was indeed an old fox. Alder was good at winning people over!
“Josef, I advise you not to make a scene in Joules Town. You can f”ck off to where you came from. There’s no profit share for you in Joules Town!” Jacob said with a wave of his hand.
As soon as he had said this, the sexy woman beside him snorted coldly and said, “Yeah, how dare a nouveau riche challenge an affluent family!”
All the other guests also spoke up, taunting Morten and Caitlyn sarcastically.
“So you’re Morten Lennon, chairman of the Lennon Group. I thought you were somebody, but it turned out you’re just an inexperienced nouveau riche.”
“Your behavior is a disgrace to your company. I feel sorry for the employees of Lennon Group.”
“Josef, f*ck off with your b“tch. We don’t welcome you!”
Nothing else angered Morten. However, he could not pretend he did not hear the word “b*tch”!
Alder instantly felt furious, and his free left hand clenched into a fist.
Seeing the way Morten looked, Jacob immediately pulled his lover back and looked warily at Morten not far in front of him.
William did not tell Jacob much about Morten. However, Jacob had someone look into Morten’s identity too.
Although he did not find out Morten’s real identity and background, he knew Morten was capable. Alder did not want Morten to suddenly fly into a rage and beat him up here. Alder would be humiliated if that were to happen!
“What’s the matter? Do you want to beat me up? Josef, have some respect for yourself. This isn’t the hills where you come from. Violence is the same as being a brute!” Jacob shouted before laughing triumphantly.
Caitlyn’s hand trembled as she held Josef, and her eyes reddened slightly. After all, many people were taunting and verbally attacking them together.
How could an innocent girl like her handle it?
Morten was now in a dilemma.
Alder could take them all down. No one here was a match for him. Even if these b*stards joined forces, they could not beat him!
However, Jacob was right. It would have ruined his and Lennon Group’s reputation if he had. done it, so violence was useless in this situation!
Therefore, what could he do?
Just then, a woman’s voice suddenly came from the crowd. “What are you talking about? Mr. Lennon is my father’s guest. How could you treat him like this?”
Who else would it be to speak up for Morten if not Rosie?
Rosie pushed through the crowd and walked with her head held high, and she was accompanied by a middle-aged man in a suit and tie.
