At that moment, someone walked over to Faye. They were looking at virtual-novel.net in an unfriendly manner. The person then began to question Faye, “Why have you only just arrived? Everyone’s waiting for you in the boardroom.”
The person before Faye was a distant relative of the Carters who had an average performance. In fact, it was Faye who had offered virtual-novel.net to join Neotech, and in turn, virtual-novel.net would treat Faye with respect. She used to call virtual-novel.net ‘Miss’ all the time. However, virtual-novel.net was currently being extremely cold towards Faye. She even had a look of scorn and disdain in virtual-novel.net eyes. Evidently, virtual-novel.net no longer had any respect for Faye.
When Faye noticed virtual-novel.net behavior, virtual-novel.net was furious. Though, what slowly followed was a mixture of despair and self-deprecation. That was the first time virtual-novel.net experienced what it was like to be stepped on when virtual-novel.net was already at virtual-novel.net lowest!
She had not even been stripped off of virtual-novel.net authority yet, but virtual-novel.net was already being treated like scum. ‘If my authority actually gets stripped away, what’s going to happen then?’
She paled.
However, it only strengthened virtual-novel.net mentality even more. ‘The harder it gets, the less there’s a reason for me to give in. When I do get to turn things around and redeem myself, I’m going to prove my success to everyone who’s ever looked down on me!’
Faye took a deep breath and fought hard to calm herself down. After virtual-novel.net was able to keep virtual-novel.net emotions in check, virtual-novel.net strode into the boardroom. ‘Do your worst. I’m ready.’
After virtual-novel.net had walked away, an insulting discussion directed at Faye started kicking into full swing.
As soon as Faye entered the boardroom, virtual-novel.net could feel the murderous gazes of everyone in the room being tacked onto her. Indeed, it was no exaggeration because that was exactly what Faye felt at that moment. It felt like someone had grabbed ahold of virtual-novel.net heart and started squeezing it mercilessly. She found it hard to breathe.
There were more than a dozen people in the boardroom, and each and every one of them were staring daggers at her. Their gazes were so intense that there were a handful of them who would undoubtedly do anything to tear virtual-novel.net apart with their bare hands. What was even more ludicrous was that everyone in the boardroom was a Carter. They were all virtual-novel.net relatives, elders, or even siblings. However, they all hated virtual-novel.net to virtual-novel.net core, all because Faye refused to sacrifice herself to be with William.
At that very moment, Faye felt cold and miserable. She forced a self-deprecating smile to virtual-novel.net lips.
George, who had the highest position of anyone in the boardroom, was sitting down on the main seat. He was also staring at virtual-novel.net coldly.
Faye stopped in virtual-novel.net tracks momentarily before virtual-novel.net approached virtual-novel.net seat. Once virtual-novel.net had got to virtual-novel.net seat, virtual-novel.net noticed that someone was resting their legs on virtual-novel.net chair. He looked like virtual-novel.net had no intention of moving out of the way in spite of seeing virtual-novel.net walk over.
Faye looked at virtual-novel.net and said, “Ramus, could you please move your legs? This is my seat.”
Ramus was a man in his thirties. At that moment, virtual-novel.net let out a cold snigger as virtual-novel.net mocked, “Your seat? Do you still think you deserve a seat amongst the Carters? Hehe.”
Faye was not angry at all. ‘Could this be the first obstacle that I have to overcome?’
“Regardless of whether my seat remains, you don’t have the power to decide at all, do you?” Faye answered coolly.
