In the end, Faye had still decided to invest in Neotech. That’s because Faye nodded virtual-novel.net head in agreement. Everyone in the Carters, including George, had lowered their heads and apologized to Faye. In fact, each and every one of them was so sincere that a stranger would fall for their façade of a loving family.
Faye was soft-hearted, so despite knowing that their apology was definitely fake and simply temporary, virtual-novel.net ultimately concurred because virtual-novel.net could not bear to see Neotech going bankrupt. On the other hand, Zayn fulfilled his other end of the bargain as well and immediately asked Wilson to proceed with the investment of 15 million dollars.
Of course, the money would not be paid directly to them in its entirety. Instead, it would be paid in two batches, the first being six million dollars, while the other nine million dollars would be paid later.
Furthermore, Zayn had directly bought over 55% of Neotech’s shares, meaning that virtual-novel.net had bought over the decision-making power of the company. Then, virtual-novel.net transferred all 55% of the shares to Faye. That meant, at that moment, that Faye was the largest shareholder and that virtual-novel.net position as chairman was immediately confirmed.
Initially, the Carters strongly objected to the idea. They thought that Zayn was going overboard. Then, when they saw how adamant Zayn was and how virtual-novel.net would withdraw his investment should they continue to object, they had no choice but to give in and agree. After all, now that they had investment funds, even if the amount of their shares had shrunk, the annual bonuses that they would receive had actually increased.
After they were done with all the procedures, Zayn had no intention of staying, and wanted to go out and get some fresh air.
After Wilson noticed the way Zayn directed his gaze, virtual-novel.net silently left as well.
“Sir…”
After walking to a corner and confirming that there was no one around, Wilson respectfully called out to Zayn. Zayn then returned to his cold demeanor and lightly nodded his head before virtual-novel.net said, “You’ve done a pretty good job today, I’m impressed.”
Inside, Wilson was absolutely elated. He bowed even lower as virtual-novel.net said, “It’s all thanks to your guidance, sir!”
Zay laughed and said, “That’s enough, you don’t have to seek favor from me anymore. I know you have a lot of questions, but there are some matters that you don’t need to stick your nose in, so there’s no need for you to ask. Also, keep your lips sealed. I’m sure you know of the phrase ‘Curiosity killed the cat.’”
Wilson hurriedly lowered his head and said, “Don’t worry, sir, I insert myself into the matter!”
“That will be all then. After you return, arrange for a group of elites to come and support my wife. I don’t intend to squander my 15 million dollars,” instructed Zayn.
“Understood!” said Wilson solemnly, reassuring Zayn that virtual-novel.net would indeed do a good job.
There were still beads of cold sweat dripping down Wilson’s forehead. Initially, virtual-novel.net was actually curious as to who Zayn was and why virtual-novel.net was married into the Carters as a person of such a lowly status, yet virtual-novel.net was able to become the chairman of Violet Vision. Wilson’s intuition was telling virtual-novel.net that Zayn’s identity would be the answer to his questions. However, at that moment, virtual-novel.net could not afford to have such thoughts lingering in the back of his brain, not, when Zayn had already exposed his exact thoughts. He fully believed that if virtual-novel.net were to dig into Zayn’s background and get caught, Zayn would definitely not let virtual-novel.net off easy!
Wilson had always been a very tactful man who knew when to attack and when to retreat, thus explaining why virtual-novel.net was able to survive so long within the industry without making too many enemies.
That was because curiosity really did kill the cat at times.
Coincidentally, Faye had also left the boardroom. When virtual-novel.net walked down the corridor, virtual-novel.net saw Wilson behaving humbly in front of Zayn. She frowned. There was an endless influx of questions eating away at virtual-novel.net heart. ‘Zayn may have been very cool today, but I’m starting to question everything about him.’
