Thomas was astounded. Soon after, he felt chills go down his spine and sprang up in fear. “You must be out of your mind!”

Other than Thomas, the numerous onlookers assumed that Zayn was out of his mind as well. He was literally throwing his life away by making Thomas beat Daryl up.

What else was he if not out of his mind?

Daryl was stunned for a moment as well. Soon afterward, he sniggered aloud and looked toward Thomas with a bantering expression. He said, “Thomas, your brother-in-law is a rather interesting person. He has the courage to order you to beat me up, huh? Come, punch me in the face. I promise I won’t punch you back.”

He leaned his face close to Thomas as a signal for the latter to punch him. He was behaving carelessly, yet his action only made Thomas fear him more. Thomas shuddered and could not muster the courage to beat Daryl up at all.

“Punch me! Punch me if you can! I’m asking you to punch me. You’re not going to disrespect my wish, are you?!” All of a sudden, Daryl spoke louder and stared at Thomas with a ferocious expression. Thomas was so startled that his knees buckled and he fell on his buttocks.

Thomas had a mental breakdown from being startled by Daryl that he tumbled to the ground while shouting ‘I’m sorry, I’m sorry’ continuously.

His cowardice drew in piercing, mocking laughter from the people in the surroundings. Some even took their phones out to take photos of him.

Upon witnessing the situation, Zayn shook his head helplessly and heaved a sigh. He did not expect that Thomas would be so hopeless in the face of a faultfinder despite usually being so rampant at home. It was fortunate that Zayn had come to pick Thomas up today. If Faye were in his place, perhaps she would find herself in even deeper trouble.

Daryl burst out laughing aloud in pride upon seeing Thomas’s petrified behavior. He said to Zayn in a peculiar tone, “I’m sorry for making Thomas cry accidentally. However, judging by how he looks now, it seems that he won’t have the courage to seek revenge anymore. Why don’t you do it personally and seek revenge on behalf of him instead?”

Zayn looked at Daryl nonchalantly. He felt exasperated in his heart because Thomas was so useless that he only dared to behave unreasonably at home.

Noticing that Zayn did not speak or move, Daryl uttered ‘Yikes!’, then spoke in an exaggerated tone, “Ah, excuse my bad memory. I’ve forgotten that you’re the son-in-law who married into the Carters and you’re even more useless than Thomas. Haha…”

“Richmond is so domineering when he teaches these two lads a good lesson. Look at them! They are almost petrified to death by him.”

“You’re right. How dare a country bumpkin who married into his family be disrespectful to Richmond? He’s playing with fire, and he’s looking for trouble. Haha…”

Many people were sneering at Zayn while regarding him as a clown. Thomas’s face was burning in embarrassment.

“Is it that funny?”

As he was confronted by the taunting of these people, Zayn did not feel wronged or angered by the humiliation. On the contrary, he cracked a smile.

Daryl felt especially displeased to see that Zayn could still smile. He felt awkward as though he had thrown a full-force punch on cotton.

“It is rather funny. Why?” Daryl stretched his neck and looked at Zayn straight in his eyes with a provocative gaze as he said, “I can’t be bothered to talk to you two pieces of trash. You must compensate me for hitting my car by giving me a new car. Or else, I have a hundred ways to make sure that you won’t be able to live in Waltz City anymore!”

His mannerism was arrogant, imperious, and overbearing as if he looked down on the entire world.

Zayn said, “That’s a bit too much, isn’t it? It’s true that Thomas did accidentally hit your car, and it’s his fault. We’ll just go through the normal car insurance claim procedure. Are you still asking us to compensate you with a new car?”

Daryl said in an incomparably solemn manner, “Who gave you the permission to go through the car insurance claim procedure? You hit my car, so you must compensate me with a new car. If you have the courage not to do so, don’t even think about walking away from this place unscathed today! I will still beat you up every time I see you. Furthermore, it can’t be settled with a new car then!”

He said it with so much pride that it felt as if he was the only god in the universe. He was so appealing that the onlookers were staring at him in admiration and respect. The female students were gazing at him lovingly, unable to resist his charm.
