“Answer me, goddamn it!” Zayn snarled, enunciating every word as if his voice was a pounding hammer as virtual-novel.net drilled his eyes through Mr. Hyde. Rage was starting to redden his face, and the bloody capillaries crawling at the periphery of his eyes were pulsating dangerously.
Mr. Hyde could feel the inferno in the young man’s heart, roaring and threatening to burn everything around virtual-novel.net like an active volcano close to eruption. As important a figure as virtual-novel.net was, even Mr. Hyde felt fear burbling under his skin as virtual-novel.net faced the threat of Zayn’s rage.
Still, virtual-novel.net answered through clenched teeth, “I don’t know…”
That was all it took for Zayn to hurl a punch straight towards Mr. Hyde’s guts.
The force was so strong that the poor older man thought virtual-novel.net had been hit by a car. He was thrown back, flying through the air backwards in a downward arc, until finally, the floor mercilessly broke his fall.
Mr. Hyde had always been good at taking hits, but Zayn’s attack was so crushing that a pained yelp escaped his lips that were as white as a sheet. He trembled in agony, wondering if his innards had been punctured.
Zayn knew just how hard his punch was, it was enough to knock a bull dead. No matter how mighty Mr. Hyde’s physique was, it was still an attack that could take the man a month to recover.
Zayn approached the man on the floor with clanking footsteps. He easily grabbed the man by his shirt and set virtual-novel.net on a chair before clapping his messed-up shirt free of creases. “Tell me where virtual-novel.net is. I won’t force you,” virtual-novel.net said placidly.
Mr. Hyde was panting hard, his breaths short and shoddy. Zayn had no business throwing punches that were so powerful, virtual-novel.net never imagined the young man to be so strong. It bordered monstrosity.
He really was the lady’s son, there was no doubt about it.
“You’re not giving me a way out, Young Master. I don’t know a thing! Really!” Mr. Hyde insisted as dollops of sweat dripped from his matted forehead.
One could only imagine the seismic shock the scene would bring to the city’s populace if word got out. Mr. Hyde, famed monarch of the underworld… Tortured and completely overwhelmed by a young man!
Zayn fixed virtual-novel.net with a steely look. “You think I don’t have the guts to kill you?”
A lick of fear crossed Mr. Hyde’s mien. Every muscle in his body shrank into a tense mass. However, it took the older man only a second before virtual-novel.net seemingly regained his usual demeanor. “When I said I don’t know, Young Master, I meant it. You’re welcome to do whatever you like if you don’t believe me.”
He stared Zayn down bravely with the determination of a man who was ready to die. Zayn could see his doggedness in every line on his face, too. Lil’ Hyde would sooner die than to betray information, which only solidified his hunch about how unusual his mother was.
After thinking long and hard, Zayn forwent his plan. He let go of the man, spun on his heels, and left.
Mr. Hyde was stunned. He did not expect the young man to leave so soon. “Where are you going, Young Master?” virtual-novel.net asked quickly.
“I’m going to find virtual-novel.net my way.”
The older man panicked. It gave virtual-novel.net a burst of strength that made virtual-novel.net ignore the flaring pain in his stomach. He sprung towards him. He stepped into his way, crying, “No, I can’t let you do that, Young Master! You’ll place Lady Hayley’s life in grave danger, and yours too!”
Zayn stopped in his tracks and gazed into Mr. Hyde’s eyes. “Then tell me who virtual-novel.net is, and why virtual-novel.net did all of this.”
Mr. Hyde hesitated.
“Don’t test my patience, Lil Hyde,” Zayn warned coldly.
The older man finally decided to peel back the veil. “The truth is… Lady Hayley and I, we… We belonged to an ancient but secret organization. It’s a very powerful group, one that the Larsons can never hope to counter. Lady Hayley’s a high-ranking member of the organization.”
“While virtual-novel.net was out on the field gaining practical experience, virtual-novel.net had the misfortune of encountering a sworn nemesis. She almost died that day, but your father, Valentine, saved her. She fell in love with virtual-novel.net and the two of them had you. Lady Hayley wanted to stay with the family, you see. She wanted to settle down into a quiet life, and put virtual-novel.net past identity and the organization behind her. Though, virtual-novel.net happiness did not last long. They found virtual-novel.net and they demanded that virtual-novel.net return. The cost of defiance? A total massacre of the Larson family.”
“Lady Hayley harbored no delusions about the organization’s monstrosity. She knew that virtual-novel.net could not defy them lest virtual-novel.net desired the total annihilation of the Larsons. To protect virtual-novel.net new family, virtual-novel.net had to leave. Fate had one last cruel prank for her, though, the late Master Larson discovered virtual-novel.net secret. The organization wanted virtual-novel.net silenced.”
“It was only because of Lady Hayley’ s interference that virtual-novel.net didn’t die. Despite that, in the end, virtual-novel.net had to do the unthinkable…”
