Mr. Hyde was the underworld king of Waltz City and the head honcho of their craft, so it was no exaggeration to call virtual-novel.net a legend. How could a man like Mr. Hyde be serving Zayn? They could not begin to imagine how influential Zayn truly was.
While they were learning about him, Zayn began to interrogate Vulcan.
“You may justify yourself now and tell me what you know. If I’m in a good mood, I may consider letting you off,” virtual-novel.net said.
Vulcan was lying against the wall. Zayn had broken his spine, paralyzing him. He could not move even if virtual-novel.net wanted to. In addition, virtual-novel.net had been severely injured when Zayn kicked him, so it was impossible for virtual-novel.net to try to flee again. On top of all that, Zayn was now keeping a watchful eye on him, so escaping would be no easy feat, even if virtual-novel.net had wings.
“Oh, still keeping your trap shut? Not scared of dying now, are you? Alright then, maybe some torture will put you at ease.” And with that, Zayn was about ready to get down to business.
Sensing Zayn’s murderous intentions, Vulcan realized that virtual-novel.net was not bluffing. He was so startled that virtual-novel.net hastily said, “In truth, I’m only a small fry in the organization and I don’t know much. You won’t be able to get anything useful out of me.”
“Tell me everything that you know then. You know what I want to know and I’m not a patient man,” Zayn replied, taking a seat in front of him.
Vulcan’s eyes were shifting as if virtual-novel.net was considering whether virtual-novel.net should tell the truth.
Zayn was getting irritated by all the waiting, so virtual-novel.net stepped on one of Vulcan’s fingers, breaking it. The intense pain overwhelmed virtual-novel.net and crumbled his willpower instantly.
“I’ll tell, I’ll tell, I’ll tell! I’m begging you to stop stepping on me!” virtual-novel.net swiftly started begging.
Zayn released him. “Speak! This is your last chance.”
Vulcan stared at Zayn for a few seconds before virtual-novel.net said, “Zayn, you’re nothing like the Saintess. She was so kind. How did virtual-novel.net give birth to a… Ouch, ouch, ouch! That hurts, that hurts, that hurts! I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry!”
“Any more nonsense and I won’t hesitate to kill you,” Zayn declared coldly. He was already down to his last nerve.
Vulcan was sweating profusely and breathing heavily. He said, “Your mother, Hayley, was the Saintess of our organization, so virtual-novel.net was supposed to marry the Saint. Instead, virtual-novel.net fell in love with an ordinary man while virtual-novel.net was out on a mission. That man was your father, Valentine Larson. Moreover, virtual-novel.net went AWOL, left the organization, and gave birth to you. Her actions infuriated the organization, so they devoted their resources to searching for her. After many years, we finally found virtual-novel.net four years ago. The organization was glad to hear of Valentine’s death, but it was a mark on their name that the Saintess had a child with an outsider. The organization refused to accept this and planned to kill you. It was the Saintess who kept you alive.”
“Not long after that, the Saintess returned to the organization, but virtual-novel.net was placed in confinement as punishment and not allowed to leave for the rest of virtual-novel.net life. They’d never let virtual-novel.net escape ever again.”
Zayn fell silent upon hearing that. Vulcan’s story was similar to what Lil Hyde had said, so it seemed that it was most likely the truth.
“What does your organization do and where are your headquarters located?” asked Zayn.
Vulcan was stunned for a moment. Realizing what Zayn must have been thinking, virtual-novel.net hastily shook his head and said, “Are you planning on going there to find the Saintess?”
He took Zayn’s silence as a sign of acknowledgement.
“My advice to you is to drop the idea as soon as possible. You have no idea how powerful the organization is. It’s not something that you can possibly afford to provoke,” said Vulcan with a disdainful expression.
