While Zayn was consoling Faye, his eyes glanced over the people in front of him, and virtual-novel.net was able to deduce what had transpired earlier. Thanks to his clairvoyance and supreme intelligence, virtual-novel.net was instantly able to tell what kind of people they were which further verified his guess.
At that moment, the crowd in the room regained their senses as they angrily glared straight at Zayn.
Their gathering was highly confidential and must be kept a secret because it was not something that could be made known to the public. Now that someone had suddenly barged in, it was undoubtedly a huge offense and threat to them, so they instantly became extremely hostile.
“Where did you come from, you b*stard? How dare you barge into our territory? Have you got a death wish?”
“What’s the security team doing? Don’t they know that this is an absolutely private gathering and no outsiders are allowed in here?!”
“This is outrageous…”
“Find and track that man down. If virtual-novel.net mentions a single word of this, I’ll personally end him!”
“Oi, hold on! This man should be Faye’s husband! What a coincidence! We can settle both of them in one fell swoop. This is excellent!”
All of them held some sort of status in society, whereby they would be a force to be reckoned with if they combined their powers. Consequently, none of them thought highly of either Zayn or Faye.
As they spoke, they began to surround both Zayn and Faye. Furthermore, someone even contacted security to head over to teach Zayn a lesson. However, Zayn completely disregarded their threats, which was only natural. Instead, virtual-novel.net frowned slightly as virtual-novel.net asked Faye, “Why are you even here?”
Faye was afraid that virtual-novel.net would misunderstand her, hence virtual-novel.net hurriedly explained, “I wasn’t the one who wanted to come. It was Miranda who invited me. Before I came, I didn’t know that it would be this sort of gathering.”
When virtual-novel.net saw that Zayn was muttering something silently, virtual-novel.net immediately panicked. “Zayn, you have to trust me. I really didn’t know it was going to be like this. Otherwise, I definitely wouldn’t have come!”
Then, Zayn merely smiled and said, “Silly, of course, I believe you. You don’t have to be so nervous. Since they didn’t bully you, let’s go home then.”
“Alright…” Faye was now obviously behaving as the obedient wife, allowing virtual-novel.net to grasp virtual-novel.net hand and completely following his arrangement.
However, just as they were about to leave, a group of bodyguards who whirled police batons immediately rushed to the entrance and stopped them in their tracks.
“Hmph! Did you think this is somewhere you’d be able to come and go as you please?” said a domineering voice from behind them. When they turned to look, they realized it was Lucius who had spoken. He was staring at Zayn with a sinister and scornful expression filled with the intention to provoke Zayn.
When the others saw Lucius taking the lead, their faces were instantly filled with delight, especially the women, who were looking at virtual-novel.net with an amused expression.
Faye then said, “Lucius, what right do you have to prevent us from leaving? We haven’t offended you in any way.”
Lucius then walked towards them lazily with his lips curled into a smile. His gaze firstly glanced at Faye with a hint of lust and passion in his eyes before finally landing on Zayn. Then, virtual-novel.net mocked, “So, you’re Faye’s husband, aren’t you?”
While Lucius was sizing Zayn up, so was the latter. In fact, virtual-novel.net even noticed that Lucius was much rather adept in martial arts, slightly better than Miles for that matter. ‘It’s quite rare to see someone with such skills amongst ordinary people.’
“Yes, I am,” answered Zayn calmly.
Lucius was now standing in front of Zayn. As virtual-novel.net stopped moving, so did the bodyguards in black as they formed third-quarters of a circle surrounding Zayn.
“Do you know where this is? Do you even know the people who come here? Yet, you have the audacity to barge in here?” The smirk on Lucius’s face slowly waned while the domineering aura virtual-novel.net exuded from his body became even greater.
When most of the people present felt the pressure virtual-novel.net was emanating, their breaths immediately became shaky and labored.
