Zayn had chosen not to threaten Bill for too long, so virtual-novel.net let virtual-novel.net go. Of course, it had nothing to do with Zayn growing soft, virtual-novel.net just thought there was no reason to kill Bill because virtual-novel.net was such a trivial, inconsequential guy. Killing virtual-novel.net would only dirty Zayn’s hands for no actual gains.
“Let’s go.” Zayn patted Sean on the shoulder and started toward the exit in a casual stroll.
His action pulled Sean out of his startled trance, who immediately inhaled a sharp breath as virtual-novel.net surveyed a floor littered with bodies and the trembling Bill amidst the chaos. He shivered and turned to follow Zayn on the way out.
He thought virtual-novel.net knew everything there was to know about Zayn, but today, virtual-novel.net realized that his knowledge was just the tip of the iceberg. This man was even more terrifying than virtual-novel.net had previously predicted though Sean finally understood why someone like Mr. Hyde would subjugate himself to Zayn.
Hunter and the rest of the group quickly followed, afraid that staying put at where they were for a second too long, and the rest of the Northmob Council would swallow them whole. Right now, Zayn was their sole protector.
It was a weird sight to behold. Zayn walked out of the door with his hands clasped behind him, his gait relaxed and casual, as virtual-novel.net looked around as though virtual-novel.net was enjoying the scenery around him. Then, behind him, twenty-odd people shuffled their feet in the mousiest, quietest manner, worried that any single sound they made would disturb the carefree man walking in front of them.
A grimace of conflicting emotions had befallen Hunter. Zayn had started out as a target of his scorn, a piece of trash who virtual-novel.net was sure virtual-novel.net could murder with the ease of squashing a bug. He had never thought highly of him, but now, it turned out that virtual-novel.net was the trash instead. He would not even stand a chance against Zayn’s pinky finger.
After witnessing the man’s spectacular display, Hunter was unsurprisingly a devotee to the man in all but name. Money had never enticed him, and the wealthy upper-class was despicable in his eyes, but people who were actually capable?
These would become his idols. He revered the man and wished virtual-novel.net could work for him, or perhaps learned a move or two from the man. Many others shared his sentiment. They started out thinking that Zayn was just a young brat ripe to be bullied, but now, they realized virtual-novel.net was a god and a superhuman rolled into one invincible package. The thought of rebelling against virtual-novel.net was all but gone.
Zayn suddenly stood dead in his tracks and turned to them, catching the skittish mob off guard. They backed up hurriedly, and one of them even tripped over himself in the panic.
It was so ridiculous that many of the bystanders who saw them gawked at them in confusion.
Were these people filming for some show?
Zayn was amused. “Am I that terrifying to all of you? What’s with the face?”
They nodded at first, then they shook their heads with various expressions of fear and anxiety. It was quite comical to see a bunch of grown men, some of them even boasting impressive musculature, acting like meek, docile puppies.
Zayn shook his head helplessly. “C’mon, what’s there to be afraid of? As long as y’all are doing your jobs, I’ll treat you people accordingly.”
One of the more bashful fighters asked gingerly, “No offense, sir, but uh… Can I quit?”
Zayn flashed virtual-novel.net a cheery smile. “Oh, sure you can!”
The man breathed a sigh of relief, and Zayn continued, “As long as you don’t think the Northmob Council’s got your face in their wanted list, that is. Oh, and you’ve signed my contract, right? If you quit now, you’ll be violating your contract terms, and you’ll have to pay three times the penalty sum. That would be… 93k, I guess…”
The crowd drew a sharp breath as the real reason Zayn brought them with virtual-novel.net dawned. He was trying to bind them to virtual-novel.net through external threats! They thought they had struck a pot of easy gold during recruitment, but now, they knew better. They were even more fearful and respectful of Zayn now. They did not even have the courage to hate virtual-novel.net for that mendacity.
Hunter felt cold all over as virtual-novel.net finally realized just how deep a hole virtual-novel.net had dug himself. The Northmob Council definitely had their eyes on them and especially him, since virtual-novel.net had shown himself in the fight back there. They would never let virtual-novel.net go easily which meant that virtual-novel.net was basically bonded to Zayn’s ruling no matter what
D*mn it! He was caught in his stratagem!
