As they were speaking in Rheasian, Marissa found herself excluded from the conversation. She stared at the men talking amongst themselves, eyes wide with confusion.
Liam and the rest of the group froze. Before they could offer any form of response, Zayn chimed in, “Well, that’s about it. There aren‘t going to be any more assassins coming for virtual-novel.net life, so just deploy any other agent to take over from here, she’ll be fine. I’m out.”
And that was it. He vanished into thin air, as if virtual-novel.net had teleported away and into the vegetation that surrounded them.
Marissa had watched virtual-novel.net slip through the cracks of virtual-novel.net hand. She found herself left with no choice but to stomp virtual-novel.net feet in embarrassed indignance.

Zayn was finally heading home. It felt great to be back.
Before virtual-novel.net knew it, virtual-novel.net had been gone for half a month, his longest time being separated from Faye ever. He had never yearned for virtual-novel.net so much before, ever!
Absence made the heart grow fonder, and Zayn was certain that virtual-novel.net was fonder than a newly-wed. He wanted virtual-novel.net so much that virtual-novel.net was practically speeding home to get to virtual-novel.net as fast as virtual-novel.net could. He might have called his wife every night for the past half month, but radio waves could never replace being in virtual-novel.net arms.
He finally arrived at Barrow Cove, and the first thing that caught his eyes when virtual-novel.net opened the door was a couple in the living room having a lively chat with his wife.
His sudden appearance made them stop. Their eyes wandered over to where virtual-novel.net was standing, and Faye gasped in pleasant surprise. Leaping to virtual-novel.net feet, virtual-novel.net made no effort to conceal how overjoyed virtual-novel.net was. She cried, “Zayn! You’re home!”
Zayn cracked a lively smile as well. Half a month of separation had really made virtual-novel.net miss everything about her. He changed into his indoor slippers and strode towards Faye, grabbing the woman’s delicate hand in his and chuckled, “Here I am, honey, home.”
Seeing virtual-novel.net up close caused virtual-novel.net to make a rather upsetting discovery, though. Faye looked a little ashen. She looked a lot less bubbly and energetic than virtual-novel.net remembered virtual-novel.net to be, and a little more feeble and sallower. With a pang, virtual-novel.net gripped virtual-novel.net hand tightly and asked in a hushed tone, “Did you sleep well last night? You look pale.”
Muted distress flitted through virtual-novel.net eyes before Faye lowered and shook virtual-novel.net head frantically. “No! I’m fine. Just a little low on blood sugar level, I guess.”
Zayn felt bad for her, but before virtual-novel.net could offer any help, Faye’s guests rose from their seats on the couch and regarded them formally. The woman began, “So this is your husband, Fifi? I see he’s checked both talent and looks!”
Faye nodded before turning back to Zayn. “These are my friends, honey. This is Jane Scotts. She’s a classmate of mine back in elementary school who’s also a resident in Barrow Cove. We chanced upon each other just the other day!” virtual-novel.net introduced, “And this is virtual-novel.net husband, Grayson King.”
Zayn greeted all of them with a nod and a simple greeting.
“Well, Fifi. I think my husband and I should get going. Don’t wanna be the third wheel between you lovebirds!” Jane teased. “Don’t forget about the plan!”
Faye smiled and nodded. “Got it, ma’am. Not gonna forget it.”
Zayn waited until they left before inquiring, “What’s this ‘plan’ you were talking about? Sounds secretive.”
Faye chuckled. “Oh, it’s nothing. Jane said she’s hosting a really cool party and asked me to join in. Says it will be quite the experience.”
“Huh. That so?” Zayn muttered, frowning slightly. For some reason, the phrase seemed to bode ill.
