When Zayn looked at Faye, he could see through her eyes that she was forcing herself to perk up in an attempt to console him. It made him feel awful in his heart.
“When did you start having this condition and why haven’t you told me about it?” Zayn asked after he inhaled a deep breath.
Faye’s body trembled ever so slightly while her gaze was tainted with a tinge of panic for a moment.
She chuckled aloud immediately and replied in feigned confusion, “What are you talking about, Zayn? I don’t understand.”
Zayn had no choice but to acknowledge that Faye was rather skilled at acting. She acted so naturally that he would have been deceived by her had he not stared at her constantly while exercising his sharp observation skills.
It was also due to Faye’s superb acting skills that he was unaware of her condition after such a long time!
He clutched Faye’s hand tightly. “Fifi, you shouldn’t have hidden it from me. Have you forgotten that we’re married?”
Faye felt her chest tightened at once, and she could not refrain from tearing up upon hearing that.
She wanted to pretend that it was nothing like before yet she could not bring herself to do so anymore because she was utterly defenseless under Zayn’s lethal gaze!
Moreover, she felt guilty for mistreating Zayn. She could imagine how sad he would be when she was gone!
She would have preferred it if he had never fallen in love with her. Instead, she wished that he hated her all this time. This way, he would not be saddened by her passing.
She wanted to pretend like everything was fine, but she was immediately rendered speechless as soon as she opened her mouth.
Moreover, tears were gushing down her face while she bawled and apologized to him, “I’m sorry, Zayn. I’m sorry…”
Zayn immediately panicked in his heart when he saw her crying. At the same time, he felt his heart sink. He was no fool, and he could tell that Faye admitted to being sick judging by her reaction. She was truly unwell.

Yet, Faye was crying in despair, which was a clear indication that all the medical treatments in this world currently could not save her.
On the other hand, Faye chose to hide the truth from him in the end because she wanted to spend her remaining time happily with him.
At the thought of this, Zayn could not refrain from tearing up despite his usual toughness.
“Silly girl, why are you crying? What’s the purpose of crying?” Zayn smiled and wiped away Faye’s tears.
“You should’ve told me the truth earlier. I’m the most powerful person in this world, and I’m much more capable than those doctors. I will certainly be able to cure you.”
Zayn suppressed the sorrow and sadness in his heart forcefully and used his smile to console Faye.
Faye shook her head as she cried and said, “It’s no use. I have an incurable illness that even the finest medical team in this world hasn’t encountered before.
“It’s as if I’ve been cursed with this condition. I’m aging and weakening every day, and I don’t have much time left…”
“I’m sorry, Zayn. I was planning on spending my final moments with you initially and leaving silently without your notice… Why? Why is this happening to me?”
“Zayn, you’ve done so much for me, and I really don’t want to see you in sorrow because of me…” Faye’s face was wet with tears.
Zayn clenched his teeth tightly. He was at a loss for words now. He was afraid that he would cry as soon as he spoke!
He could only wrap his arms around Faye as he inhaled a deep breath and said, “Don’t be sad, Fifi, and don’t lose hope just yet. I promise you that I’ll certainly find a way to cure you!
“There are still many great things that we have yet to experience together and so many places that we have yet to visit together.”
“Most importantly, we still don’t have a child of our own! That is why I won’t let you go, and I won’t allow you to go either. No one, not even heaven, can take you away from me!”
