He could see everyone’s expression, and he could tell that the vast majority of people loathed him to their bones and were immensely furious.

There were also some who felt sorry for him. He was overwhelmed with complicated emotions in his heart at this very moment.

A smile that came from the bottom of his heart spread on his face. He felt relieved that Faye could finally be saved.

He did not look back anymore as he dove into the forest of Mount Septimus abruptly.

At the foot of Mount Septimus, a black car was parked. Lil Hyde was smoking a cigarette outside the car. It had already been two minutes since he arrived with Faye, but he still could not see Zayn yet.

Just as he was considering if he should call Zayn, all of a sudden, he heard movements coming from behind. He hastily turned around to see a disheveled silhouette charging down the mountain swiftly.

Who else could it be if not Zayn?

Lil Hyde was stunned because Zayn was in such an untidy state now. Not only were his clothes tattered, but he had fresh blood stains on them while his face was covered in sweat and grime.

He could tell that Zayn just came from a ferocious battle at one glance and had been injured rather severely.

“Sir?”

Lil Hyde hastily put out the cigarette and walked toward Zayn.

Noticing Lil Hyde, Zayn felt relieved in his heart. It was great that Lil Hyde managed to arrive on time, and there was no need for him to wait for them. Otherwise, he could not guarantee that he would be able to wait for Faye’ s arrival.

“Is my wife here too?” Zayn did not waste time making small talk and went straight to the point.

Lil Hyde nodded and said, “Madam is in the car.”

Zayn saw Faye sitting in the car, just as expected. His anxious heart immediately relaxed.

He patted Lil Hyde’s shoulder firmly and said, “Thank you so much, Lil Hyde!”

Lil Hyde was overwhelmed by Zayn’s serious, earnest attitude. He hastily said, “You’re being too courteous. That is my duty.”

“Hmm.” Zayn nodded then he began to open the door of the car and got in.

Faye also noticed Zayn earlier. She was pleasantly surprised to see him getting into the car in the meantime. However, she noticed Zayn’s terrible state immediately. Her expression changed drastically when she realized that his entire body was covered in injuries.

“Zayn, how did you get injured?” Faye became tenderhearted instantly. When she saw the two deep gashes on Zayn’s body, she could imagine how painful it was.

Her eyes reddened with sorrow. Her body began to tremble violently in her emotional state while her expression was filled with agony as well.

Zayn hastily propped her up and said, “Calm down, Fifi. I’m fine. It’s just a flesh wound.”

“Zayn, how can you still lie to me? You’re injured so severely and your clothes are drenched in your blood…” Faye sobbed sorrowfully.

She was already in a very weak state now, so she could not shed a tear even if she wanted to. She was extremely skinny as if she was already dehydrated.

“Silly girl, why are you crying? These are all other people’s blood. I’m still well.”

Zayn cupped her face with his hands. He did not shun her just because she was sick and dying now. Instead, his eyes were still filled with boundless affection.

“Zayn, promise me not to get involved with danger from now on, alright?” Faye seemed to be exerting her last ounce of strength to hold onto his hand.

“I’m about to die soon. Zayn, promise me that you must forget me when I’m dead and look for new happiness…”
