“That’s right, apologize now!”
Everyone else chimed in, pressuring Kaiser to apologize.
Speaking through clenched teeth, Kaiser muttered, “I haven’t said anything wrong, so why should I apologize, you…”
Roxanne silenced the crowd by demanding icily, “Apologize, Kaiser.”
Upon hearing that, Kaiser’s body began to convulse at once. He gritted his teeth tightly and lowered his head. He felt extremely unwilling and very aggrieved as well.
He would lose all his dignity if virtual-novel.net were to apologize in the presence of so many of virtual-novel.net old friends!
However, Roxanne had already given the order. If virtual-novel.net still refused to apologize, Roxanne would terminate his employment for real!
The worst part was that Roxanne still kept half a year’s worth of his monthly wages. If virtual-novel.net were to be fired by Roxanne now, virtual-novel.net would not be getting that back anymore. It was worth a few thousand bucks regardless.
“I…” Kaiser raised his head and looked at Roxanne with a pleading gaze while virtual-novel.net spoke as if virtual-novel.net was begging for mercy, “Ms. Harrison, I was only saying it casually earlier and I didn’t mean to disrespect you…”
However, Roxanne did not show virtual-novel.net any pity but virtual-novel.net said coldly, “I’m not a patient person. You have one last chance.”
Kaiser panicked. He felt extremely aggrieved and virtual-novel.net was in so much agony in his heart. He used to be a righteous person in the past yet virtual-novel.net was remoulded by life over the years and the society had forced virtual-novel.net to bow down against his will!
He inhaled a deep breath. He could only lower his head, open his mouth to apologize…
Just as virtual-novel.net was about to speak, Zayn placed a hand on his shoulder.
With a meaningful gaze, Zayn said, “Kaiser, there’s no need to apologize. You haven’t said anything wrongly and they’re the ones at fault.”
Kaiser’s body trembled ever so slightly. He raised his head and looked toward Zayn.
He cracked a forced smile and said, “It’s alright. I’ll just apologize, it’s not a big deal for me. I’m sorry, Zayn, I didn’t expect that it’d turn out like this.”
Zayn looked at virtual-novel.net and said, “Kaiser, if I were to tell you that I’m very rich and that I’m richer than you can imagine. One word from me is enough to boost your status so much that you’ll be superior to everyone else such that even Roxanne has to look up to you, will you believe me?”
“Huh?” Kaiser was stunned upon hearing that. The first thought that came into his mind was that Zayn was joking.
Then, the second thought was that Zayn must be having a psychotic break. Otherwise, why would Zayn say something like this?
Would a person who was so powerful dress so shabbily and drive an electric scooter around?
“Tee-hee!”
Someone could not refrain from laughing aloud at once. “Yikes, you’re so awesome huh! You’re not going to tell us that you’re the wealthiest man in Guineve, right?”
“Hah-hah-hah, this is hilarious. I’ve encountered plenty of show-offs in my life but it’s my first time meeting someone who shows off like this.”
“That’s not a show-off anymore but a madman. There must be something wrong with his mind.”
Roxanne burst out laughing as well. She could not be bothered to conceal virtual-novel.net contempt for Zayn. She was so delighted that virtual-novel.net could finally flaunt virtual-novel.net prowess in the presence of Zayn at last!
She wanted to show Zayn that it was the biggest mistake Zayn ever made in his life when virtual-novel.net rejected virtual-novel.net back in those years!
