When Life Takes a Turn

When Life Takes a Turn – Chapter 1431

It was already night by the time he met Faye.

It was drizzling, and she was standing under the roof of the building dressed in a formal suit. She stood straight, slim and graceful like a crocus flower blooming all alone on the snowy mountains, ice-cold yet elegant.

Without exception, every passerby was mesmerized by the sight of her.

For so long, Faye had been incredibly attractive, and her reputation as the prettiest woman in Waltz City was not for naught.

Zayn felt as if he had returned to the time when they had first met years ago. Back then, he had been disowned by his family and homeless.

He was in such despair that he wanted to commit suicide at one point. It was Faye who showed up in his life and saved him. Her presence gave him a reason to live.

He could still remember how charmed he was during their first encounter.

Time zipped by and he was no longer that shallow man from the past.

Soon enough, Faye noticed him. Her cold face bloomed with joy as she cracked a smile while she walked toward Zayn.

Zayn quickened his steps as well.

“You’re here.” She took the initiative to wrap her arm around his, smiling sweetly. Her smile made everything else in the surroundings pale in comparison, and her brilliance outshined all things.

Zayn breathed in Faye’s scent greedily. Even though he had smelled it countless times before, he still found it enthralling and would never get bored of it.

“Have you been waiting long?” Zayn smiled very gently.

Both of them exchanged glances and could see the emotions in each other’s eyes. After being together for several years, they were acting like a loving married couple and had started to resemble each other.

The passersby who were charmed by Faye’s beauty felt envious upon witnessing the scene.

No man would want to see an exquisitely beautiful woman diving into the arms of another.

“No, I just got off work too,” said Faye, still smiling. She cuddled up to Zayn affectionately, and they strolled to the car through the drizzle.

Zayn and Faye then went for a meal before going to the movies together.

It had been quite a long while since they visited the cinema.

Faye could not stop smiling. She felt like she was the happiest, most cherished woman in the world. As long as Zayn was there, she had a sense of security that put her at ease and made her especially happy.

However, she did not notice the guilt in Zayn’s eyes that appeared briefly before vanishing.

The movie they went to see that night was a rather entertaining comedy. It was very funny, with lots of humorous moments without being corny, and Faye giggled as she watched.

She enjoyed the movie right till the end.

Next, they took a stroll in the mall and had some snacks. Faye was very satisfied when they headed home.

After a shower and making love, Faye said tenderly, “Zayn, did something happen?”

In truth, Faye was not a fool. Earlier, she had sensed that something was bothering Zayn, but she did not bring it up.

Zayn was silent for a moment and then replied, “I’m going to Sicut In Caelo’s headquarters tomorrow to look for my mother.”

Zayn told Faye about Sicut In Caelo in the past, so she already knew of it. When she heard his answer, her breathing quickened immediately and her expression grew worried.

“Have you already made up your mind?” she asked softly.
