“Hmm.” Zayn nodded.
Faye paused for a moment and said, “Alright, be careful.”
She knew Zayn and she was certain her mother-in-law must be in danger. That could be the only reason Zayn would risk his life to go there.
As his wife, no matter how unwilling she was, she could not allow herself to dissuade Zayn under such circumstances and burden him with more worries.
Zayn’s lips moved ever so slightly. He could read Faye’s thoughts and knew that she behaved this way out of concern for him.
He could only hug her tightly and tell her affectionately, “I’ll be back safely.”
“Hmm! I trust you!” Faye nodded strenuously and cracked a sweet smile.
Zayn smiled as well, and they fell asleep holding each other.
Faye discovered that Zayn was no longer by her side when she woke up the next day.
She stretched herself lazily and found a note on Zayn’s pillow that said, ‘Fifi, there’s a slim chance of survival for me when I visit the headquarters of Sicut In Caelo. If I’m not back in a week, it means that I might never be back.’
‘Take your whole family with you and leave Waltz City. Go someplace far away, settle down there, and live well. I’m sorry for making you worry again.’
‘Love, Zayn.’
Faye was instantly stunned upon reading the note, and tears streamed down her face…
Zayn had woken up very early and departed.
He had wanted to visit the headquarters of Sicut In Caelo for some time. Saving his mother had become an obsession.
That was what gave him the motivation to strive and go forward all this time.
He used to assume that he would have the ability to save his mother when he made a breakthrough in his training and became a master fighter.
However, he discovered later on that even that was not enough. The more powerful he became, the more he discovered that Sicut In Caelo was not as simple an organization as it appeared.
Afterward, he assumed he would be able to go when he was a Tier-4 master fighter.
The reality was like a ferocious slap when he discovered he would face overwhelming odds even as a Tier-4 master fighter.
It was only a few months ago when he thought that being a perfect-class master fighter would allow him to take on Sicut In Caelo, but Ezra Sword’s presence changed his mind completely as well.
When Saint Caelum showed up on Mount Roi, all his hopes were shattered. At that moment, he found he could not celebrate the joy of defeating Raiden because this signified that even if he was an unbeatable fighter, he may not necessarily be able to fight against Sicut In Caelo.
Day after day and year after year like that, he wondered when he would be powerful enough.
From what he understood, it had already been six full years since his mother was imprisoned in the headquarters of Sicut In Caelo!
Initially, he was under the assumption that he still had time. He assumed he would be able to make a breakthrough with his talent and hard work and become a perfect-class unbeatable fighter in two years.
Even if he was not Caelum’s match, he would still stand a chance of winning by joining forces with Paxton ‘Ares’ Brookes.
Whatever the case, he did not have time to wait anymore. One text message from Lysithea dismissed this idea, and he had no choice but to go now.
