When Life Takes a Turn

When Life Takes a Turn – Chapter 1481

Joe clenched his teeth and made up his mind. “Since Sergeant Larson isn’t here yet, I shall defend the honor of our Insurgent Trifecta then!”

Liam immediately protested, “But, Director Pennywise, you have yet to recover fully from the injuries you sustained last month. Fighting Axton now will only spell trouble for you!”

Joe had gotten injured when he was on a mission last month and had yet to recover fully now. If he were to engage in the fight, it would certainly aggravate his injuries.

Moreover, Axton’s fighting skills were more powerful than Joe’s from the start. Getting embroiled in the fight was no different from seeking doom for Joe!

Joe let out a bitter laugh and said, “Is there any other choice now other than sending me to fight against him? None of you is a fourth-tier master fighter yet.”

The crowd of people heaved a sigh heavily as their gazes dimmed. Joe was right about him being the only fourth-tier master fighter other than the freak Zayn in the entire Insurgent Trifecta.

If they were to fight against Axton as a whole, they would be fighting against overwhelming odds.

They were overwhelmed with grief and indignation in an instant. They loathed themselves for being so useless and so weak despite having trained for such a long time!

Joe made up his mind. He took a step forward and his presence underwent such a drastic transformation that it was actually comparable to Axton’s. His eyes glowed and brimmed with liveliness.

For that very brief moment, the entire hall was illuminated brighter.

“I’m coming for you!” Joe made his way to Axton, filled with the will to fight without any intention to dodge Axton’s sheer power. As the director of the Insurgent Trifecta, he was supposed to defend the honor of his organization now!

Axton burst out laughing aloud. “Very well, very well. Joe, you’ve come to the fore of the fight willingly at last. I’d like to see how mighty you are as the so-called mainstay of the Insurgent Trifecta!”

Upon saying that, his presence grew exponentially and he towered over Joe such that Joe could feel the immense pressure bearing down on him.

At this very moment, the crowd of people from the Insurgent Trifecta felt a wave of dismalness because they knew that Joe was certainly no match for Axton, he was only doing so to defend the honor of the Insurgent Trifecta.

However, just as the fight was about to be triggered at any moment, the door that was tightly shut flew open instantly. A tall and slim man strode into the room.

“Director Pennywise, there’s no need for a senior member like you to partake personally in a fight against a nobody like him.”

The person who entered the room was a lanky young man with a commanding appearance. He took his own sweet time to walk into the room gracefully. At this very moment, everyone could not help feeling drawn to the sight of him.

“Sergeant Larson!”

The Insurgent Trifecta members were stunned for a moment after noticing Zayn’s appearance.

Soon afterward, they became so excited that they clenched their fists tightly and screamed out in surprise akin to drowning men finding a block of driftwood.

“That’s awesome! It’s Sergeant Larson!”

“Aww yeah, I knew that Sergeant Larson wouldn’t abandon us. Now that Sergeant Larson is here, what’s a nobody like Axton to us?”

“That goes without saying. Axton should’ve looked into what sort of person Sergeant Larson is. He’s a rare martial arts prodigy who became a perfect-class master fighter before the age of 30 years old! One slap from him is enough to kill Axton!”

“Axton is doomed! Haha…”

At the same time, the people from Yando City frowned at the sight of Zayn as well.

They had seen Zayn’s photo when they were in Yando City but they did not pay too much attention to him because they refused to believe that a perfect-class master fighter that had not even grazed the age of 30 could exist in this world!

Such a preposterous idea was comparable to someone telling them that a three-year-old child was already the finest scientist in the world and was awarded the Nobel prize, it sounded utterly absurd.

In their opinion, they assumed that it was only a lie made up by the Insurgent Trifecta for the sole purpose of boosting their reputation.
