Joe soon realized what Vivian was thinking about, so he said with a smile, “Sergeant Larson, is that an emotional blow to you?”
Vivian grinned and said, “It’s not quite an emotional blow, but I think I’ve been arrogant. There’s always someone better out there.”
Joe burst out laughing aloud and then said, “You’re not arrogant, Sergeant Larson. You’re a gifted martial artist and you’re already very impressive. There are very few people who are as formidable as you even in the big four.”
Very few people… Vivian immediately understood the true meaning in Joe’s statement. It signified that there were people who were more formidable than him!
Vivian was astonished to learn that. Could it be that there were other people who could improve faster than he had?
He was close with Joe, so he did not attempt to hide his thoughts and asked directly, “How many people are there who are more gifted in martial arts than me?”
Joe’s smile faded as he looked out the door. His pupils constricted a little while his expression grew grim, as if he had just remembered someone that terrified him. He took a deep breath and said, “There are three that I know of!”
Three…
Vivian’s eyebrow twitched beyond his control when he heard the number. He was under the assumption that there were only two at most and did not expect that there were three of them. He was not overpowered if that was the case.
Joe paused for a moment and then said, “The three are King Erik from Eastclub, Bolt from Westclub, and Gautama from Northclub. They were already invincibilis fighters before the age of 30 and they can be described as the greatest geniuses who can’t be found anywhere else in the world!”
“Eastclub’s King Erik is the most powerful one among them because he was in invincibilis state by the time he was 27 years old. He’s reputed to be the greatest genius in the world.”
“He’s been in no less than a thousand fights in his life, yet he has never been defeated.”
Vivian was stunned upon hearing that. Invincibilis state by 27 years old? How could that be possible?
He was initially under the assumption that he was already impressive for being one step away from invincibilis state at 29 years old, but he was nothing compared to Eastclub’s King Erik.
Though he was just a step away from the invincibilis state, Vivian would still need time to train before he could advance.
All at once, Vivian felt rather dejected.
It was indeed an emotional blow to him.
Joe patted his shoulder and said, “There’s no need to look down upon yourself, Sergeant Larson. You’re still young and you have endless possibilities ahead of you.”
“In addition, those three geniuses have been cultivated intensely by their clubs from the day they were born. They had access to countless resources and assistance that they needed in order to achieve what they have, so it’s different.”
Vivian was still silent. After a while, he asked, “Is there no such genius from Sicut In Caelo?”
Joe said, “No, and that’s why Sicut In Caelo is declining. The club is having a shortage of talent among the younger generation.”
“The previous Southern Highlord Raiden Storm was an impressive genius too with hopes of advancing to the invincibilis state, but unfortunately, you killed him.”
Vivian felt rather embarrassed upon hearing that. He had beaten Raiden to death and had also taken over his position.
All of a sudden, Vivian began to understand at this point why Saint Caelum chose not to kill him even after he killed Raiden. Instead, he was made the new Southern Highlord. It was because there was no other talent in Sicut In Caelo.
Talent was always the most important factor in any profession.
He chatted with Joe for a while more until he learned everything that he wanted to know. Vivian felt an intense premonition that he would be meeting the big four for sure in the near future.
