“What else can we do then?”
Alice immediately panicked when she failed to make the call. It was her first time encountering a situation like this in her life. It would be unrealistic for a helpless woman like her not to be scared in such a situation.
Prince William was seized by panic as well. His face was covered in sweat and he was scared out of his wits. “What should we do? Why is this happening? We’re in Yingland! How dare someone try to assassinate me?!”
Adrian shook his head after seeing how flustered they were.
It was considered normal for Alice to behave in this manner, yet William was just as flustered despite being a prince. Joe did not possess any ounce of the calm a prince should have.
Joe said in a deep voice, “Did you offend anyone?”
Prince William was so befuddled that he did not have a clear enough mind to answer Adrian’s question sensibly. His face was drenched in sweat when he said, “I don’t know, I don’t know…”
Alice could see how calm and composed Adrian was and it gave her enough of a sense to slowly calm herself down. She said, “Are they trying to abduct us so they can extort money from the royal family?”
“It’s possible,” said Adrian while nodding.
“Who the heck would be so bold? After all, we’re in Yingland.” Alice could not figure out how someone would be brazen enough to do this.
“It’s fine. I’ll protect all of you.” Adrian patted Alice’s shoulder to give her a sense of security.
Alice was stunned for a moment. It was apparent that she did not expect that Adrian would say something like that under such circumstances. It made her feel warm and fuzzy inside.
Moreover, she felt ashamed of herself for losing her patience with him earlier.
However, logically, she still could not believe that Adrian had the ability to protect them. After all, Adrian was all alone, and he did not appear to be as powerful as those special agents either.
“Thank you for your kind intentions, Adrian.” Alice said, “I appreciate your kindness but these are all extremely ferocious, evil assassins and you won’t be able to protect us from them.”
Meanwhile, Prince William calmed down a little. Joe expressed his contempt after hearing Adrian’s remark. “Did I hear you right? Did you say that you’re capable of protecting us all by yourself, Rheasian? You’re quite boastful.”
Adrian could not be bothered to pay attention to him.
Adrian projected his consciousness within a range five kilometers all around him. Joe could sense that it was a rather large operation with almost the entire assassin lineup consisting of master fighters.
Moreover, those were professionally trained fighters so they could kill with one strike and capture Prince William and Alice!
Meanwhile, Prince William felt rage surging through his chest after noticing that Alice was holding Adrian’s hand. Joe felt very displeased and let out a grunt.
Joe reached over and grabbed Alice’s hand while he comforted her, “Don’t be scared, Alice. Our royal bodyguards are highly skilled and will certainly be able to protect us!”
Alice pulled away her hand in an unnatural manner after Prince William took it. She nodded and said, “Hmm, I hope so.”
Prince William was displeased by Alice’s act of struggling free from him. However, it was inappropriate for him to comment further under such circumstances.
Alice trusted Prince William’s royal bodyguards more than Adrian. They were the most formidable special agents in Yingland, so she believed they would certainly be able to keep them safe.
